[QUOTE=m42racer;9055164]The Lexus engine is a great engine, period. If the 928 transplant is not your cup of tea, at least he choose a great engine to use.
/QUOTE]

I've been told (unconfirmed) that the turbos have been removed from this car due to excessive heat through the floor.

There is a heap of room at the front of the engine - Lexus V8 in a 928, Probably would have been a better place to have put them,Overkill really, engine makes more than enough power unboosted

Couple things that cause me to check in with the UZ-FE swap enthusiast from time to time (into any vehicle) are the progress they have made in terms of affordable OHC V-8 enhancements.
Thor Racing has an ITB solution that looks readily adaptable to the 928. the ECU solutions should be remarkably similar to the 928.

They have also gotten well down the road for 5 & 6 speed transplants via custom bell housing setups.

My delicate stomach has a problem with putting a Jap engine in a (German) Porsche automobile.

Porsche used Jap tech in their engines during this era, and paid patent license fees for it.

The good folks @ Toyota were never to proud to use a Getrag 5 speed manual Tranny when that was their best option.

My only problem with the UZ swap is the outrageous cost of spares for the Porsche parts of the package
Owning a Porsche is like dating a supermodel with a heroin problem!

If my time, funds and access to an engine engineering company were unlimited, I would like to see their VVT-iE cam system on our M28. The E part makes me think it would be some what easier than using hydraulics to make the adjustments.
