This with an 8.5 CR would be a good one to SC and add a wide body kit too. Any feed back from the group !
Feedback:

If you mean that you can leave your very nice '86 in it's very nice condition while mercilessly ripping apart a beat-up '78 and hot-rodding it, then go for it.

Please post pictures of the Pascha seats regardless if you buy it or not.

Also, check the VIN # - very early cars are desireable to some collectors and restorers.

Yes, that's the number that should be on the title when you buy it. $3000 is chump change for any car, my mom's silly Hyunai Excel 4 door AT would sell for that kind of money. How many original early 928s with 5 speeds and checkered seats are there?

Can't wait till my wife finds out I already own 5 cars ! I just hope this is not a hole in which to place money in. This at least will allow me to learn how to do body work and paint. Also taking the motor to the edge will be fun! Any heads up on what to look for while on the lift?

So it has an econo bake paint job and some body work has been done? What happened to the "original paint" described in the ad?

Mark, to me the cool thing about having a 78 and also a later model car is finding all of the differences between the two. There are lots of little things that you will find that are unique to that model year. Rixter would probably be able to give you a long list of them. To me, thats part of the fun.

AM I TO ASSUME YOU ENJOY A PROSTATE EXAM !
I can already see a bunch of things that are unique, seems the 86 is a little more sophisticated. I'm a little worried about parts and learning how to do body work.!

Tranny issues

First and Rev grinds once car is running, Two started grinding and had a hell of a time to get into the other gears. With car in idle had a hard time getting it into any gear. I think it maybe shifter busings whats a good way to eliminate this problem and make sure it is not a tranny issue.

WTH? Your thinking of Normy.

Parts are not hard to get. The body work is easy as long as your standards are low. I know yours are not so it will just take patience and time.

The transmission linkage is the same as on your 86.

So the car won't shift into any gear when the car is running?

Is the clutch working?

Bleed the clutch it's better but not great, I think the clutch is worn pedal pretty high. Either way 1st and Rev grinds, When ****ing into 2nd it grinds sounds like internal issues to me. The other gears seem ok although a little tight!
