Texture on the 928 huh? Hadn't thought of that....might solve the rock chip issues!! Mary might have issues with me pulling my car into their family room. I am sure she is tired enough of them at work let alone at their house.
I am at the point of needing to get the paint work done..but now my passenger seat split so new seat covers are on my mind. Does this shi- ever end?

Let's all get a pot together and get Ron a 1990 Chevy Caprice to drive around.....no one will need to put much in the pot! (I figure we can pull this off if everyone who goes to Sharktoberfest puts in a dollar.) Then he'll appreciate the fine automobile he has. Relatively trouble free compared to the used Chevy. A torn seat cover on the Chevy won't hardly even show up!

Have you been watching the thread on seat bolster fixes? https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...=271245&page=3 Scroll down to post 50--> A little paint, a little filler & sandpaper, another coat of paint, looks not so bad.
Greg--
A nice Impala SS might be just the reliable ride. It'll take maybe four or five bucks per vsistor but we can git 'er done! Wait a minute... Now we have an 18 year old Chevy to contend with. How is this better than a similar-aged 928?

No, my newbie-sense tells me "ignorant loose cannon" type noob.
What we have here is a self-important bully with not just zero but actually negative social skills. He's pissed because he's probably just dicovered how deep a hole a badly maintained 928 can be to a person of slight mechanical skills, and he doesn't know how to ask for help in a cordial manner. Poor ****er, I hope he sells the 928 and goes back to purse snatching.
A troll who knows these waters would employ more devious forms of subterfuge to get us riled up.

greg...I appreciate the car...just wish I wasn't having to drive it as a daily driver, no other choice right now! That chevy could be a god send for me!! I just like my stuff to be as close to perfect as it can be and when I can't just go get something fixed because of other expenses it brings me down. I don't want to get so far behind on upkeep that I can never catch up. I still need shocks and motor mounts and then the mechanicals are all but wrapped up. The cosmetics are somethin I have to look at everytime I walk up to the car.

Sure we are willing to help you!
Read this:
Part # http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/067142517X
That ought to help.
Once you have thoroughly read it and understand the concepts, come back and ask again for additional help.
(see we do care, & that help was free, aside from the few bucks for the paperback!)
