Joe - thanks for the feedback and the boring procedure.
I would prefer to just take it far enough to clean up the "scoring" which I hope is 97.5 or 98mm.

Concerning piston's - I can imagine factory oversize could be incredibly expensive. What's a good source for a oversize 4.7 Euro?

Much appreciated,

the boring procedure is at http://joe928.joe_icecool.fastmail.fm/alu_en.pdf it's about 1.3 mb.

all you need is 2 of them, i can sell you 6 pistons in perfect shape. (this was scots rebuild that went south before it started)

let me know . they are the one size over sized version of the piston. Ill confirm if you are interested

why dont you just buy our brand new 4.7 euro block? (almost brand new)
perfect cylinders, new rings, bearings and seals. a drop in for near $1000. its going to cost way more than that to do the clean up, bore it and then buy the oversized pistons. (or piston)
Its a euro M28-11 short block

I agree with Mark however I do have a brand new set of oversize pistons, they are not cheap, read more expensive than Marks engine but if you want to buy them send me a PM.

Hi Mark,

My interest at this point is information and knowledge. In a recent parts deal (for parts other than a motor) - I ended up with an M28/11 mini-short block(no pistons) with a "scored" cylinder.

Thanks for the offer for the engine; however, right now I am just trying to understand if the damage (scored cylinder) can be corrected. If the damage could be corrected then this might become a long term engine project. If the damage could not be corrected, I will likely keep the block for one of the exotic coffee tables I see in the forum

Thanks again,
