But they get my stuff to me fast.

Received the replacement GTS mirror glass (original one delaminated) and 2 new hatch shocks the day after I ordered 'em.

Thanks, JB.

Rich
I have used Greyhound for shipping. Shipped one of those motorized 2 wheel scooter from Ontario to Alberta and it was only $35. They are a bit slow but dirt cheap when compared to every other shipping company. The only issue is that the package needs to be dropped off and picked up at a Greyhound bus depot.

Sometimes I think the service you get is determined by where you are. UPS is pricey but I seem to prefer them over Fedex. In other parts of the country Fedex seems better. Whenever I ship I use UPS since I live in a rural area and the UPS place is only about 10 miles from me and fedex is around 20 miles.

Yeah, something is way wrong with the $400 FedEx quote. Maybe if you ship as 4 separate items, that can happen. Bind them together as one item. It should be far less.

A customer once wrote me a note asking not to ship through UPS. He called them "United Parcel Smashers".

Don't remember who wrote it, but sure remember the message...

I insure everthing. Collecting can be a battle but I have had to do it twice, once with UPS and once with DHL (they lost a 928 transmission).

Size is everything. At one time I considered buying a pair of seats from Europe, and when the cost of shipping was as much as the seats I did research to find the best way and at what distances it became practical. Bottom line, if you can break up the package into smaller pieces it can make a HUGE difference. Weight affects things, but isn't nearly as important. And that makes sense from a shipping company's point of view. What they are selling is space on a van or in a container. They want to fit as many shipments as possible on the route. A 8 foot by 12 foot cardboard carton containing a single peanut? Sure, but that takes a whole truck/container to do and will cost you. A 1 foot by 1 foot box containing lead? Way heavier but they can cram a lot more shipments around it. Weight/mass equal? Smaller packages allow them to squeeze them in wherever they fit in the truck/container. A single mass forces them to put other large single masses on other trucks.

+1 for DHL.

Shipped a headliner and the accessories to Indiana last week. UPS wanted $150-200, DHL took everything in one large box for $90, and picked up at my door.

Agreed with Nicole's customer too. UPS sucks.
