No, it's not. You probably have a RMB(rear muff bypass). Generally the cars aren't loud unless their are driven quite hard. Once you are under there to get the oil changed, get that clutch slave done too. Remember, BY THE BOOK including the bleed procedure. If you didn't order a clutch master cyl green hose, go back and order one, or use surgical tubing(NOT plastic line, surgical) from the master to the reservoir. Save you some grief later in life.

Bleeding the slave cyl. can be a major PITA without a power bleeder. Try to borow one locally or you can buy one. They are nice to have but you wont use it that often.

Get the car running so you can drive it. Once it puts a smile on your face you will feel better about having to spend money on it.

There was a guy who used to post here. You kinda remind me of him. His name is Danglerb. He has a quote in his sig that says " TLC means truck loads of cash". Did the previous owner tell you that this car just needed a little TLC?

The stock rear muffler is a giant steel pumpkin-shaped thingy

I think you better call them. They can walk you through it. They take orders, answer technical questions, make sure you get the right parts (and all the parts) so you don't get halfway through the job and get stuck waiting for a bolt.
