Oh yeah, that Hooters parking lot will certainly be overflowin for sure that night! Probably would of been even without Mr. Ruf & all of his incredible Porsches there!

Where are each of you staying? Or better yet, where is everyone planning on hanging out in the eavenings? I need to book my hotel and time is running out.

Acapulco Hotel on the beach. 1-800-245-3580. Booked yesterday and got an oceanfront with balcony. AAA price 105.00 a night. Booked thurs - sat nights. About 6.5 miles total from track. I know Constantine and Abby are booked there as well. There's a putt putt golf across the street. Might be a fun diversion one night. G

Do cars still have access to the beach in Daytona? Or have the "green weenies" hosed that up too?

They have limited it somewhat over the years by adding "no driving" zones to stop the kids cruising up and down the beach.

But there is usually plenty of access. Lately though because of the several low pressure systems off the coast we've had very high tides and surf effectively shutting down the driving. Pretty typical for this time of year. I would say you got a 50/50 chance of getting on the beach for that weekend. If you do, of course it will cost you $5 toll.
