Default Good Pic of S4 front spoiler/underside needed

I just got a new front spoiler and am having a heck of a time trying to find pics.

I bought my car w/out one and I have never really seen what the finished look is like from the bottom.

I have looked at the following 2 threads and I am still not able to see a complete underside.

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hlight=spoiler

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...hlight=spoiler

I have the aluminum rear cover and just want a visual of how it all goes together. PET has the rear cover and the front spoiler on 2 different pages (801-5 and 802-10) Sorry I don't have my car, Beerburner does or I would be out playing with it right now.

Anyone have an S4 with the covers on, up on a rack and can take a picture for me please?

Kinda like rubbing your head and patting your belly at the same time isn't it? Or is it patting your head and rubbing your belly?

Hi Michael,

Would have loved to send you a picture of mine but I only have the bits under the fenders, the centre section is missing along with the undertray.

I just installed a new spoiler on a 90 today. What do you need to know?

Bill, I would just like a pic of the completed goods and can't seem to find one.

Thanks Ivan

Pics tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll throw out a few things...

The rear metal underbelly front edge fits UNDER the rear edge of the front plastic bellypan. The plastic bellypan's front edge fits UNDER the rear edge of the spoiler.

The spoiler is tricky to install. It is held onto the bumper cover by two sets of tabs on each side. You need to get them all started at the same time. That's a lot easier with two people. Also there are two vertical arms that bolt onto the inner fender. Finally, once it is all aligned on the tabs, there are 4 screws that go into speed-nuts on each side: 3 from below and one from above at the edge near the wheel well. You will need to remove the wheel well liner to get at this last screw.

Sounds like I am still missing "he plastic bellypan's front edge fits UNDER the rear edge of the spoiler.
" That's what I was thinking, how can that rear AL pan make it ALL the way to the front?

Couldn't seem to find that in pet, I'll go look again.

Thanks Bill!

Sorry, as they say, a picture is worth a thoursand words. So, you are right to ask for one. I'm talking about the lips or edges and how they overlap. There are two bellypans - the rear one is small and is aluminum. The front bellypan is large and plastic unless you got a aluminum aftermarket replacement. The spoiler is in front of that.

There's a thread I had in my subscriptions about the belly pan that has a photo of the two belly-pans in it..

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...=280373&page=2

Page 1 of that same thread also has the PET picture of the two (front and rear) belly pans. As Bill says, its the front edge of the plastic one with all the vents on it that attaches to the base of the spoiler.. I'd take photos but my car doesn't have the front belly pan either - its on my list of things to order from Porsche once I've done motor mounts and adjusted ride height.

(yes I know Aluminum aftermarket ones are available - but I want to buy the Porsche original first to get the NACA ducts.. once it gets destroyed I'll re-use the ducts and get an aluminum one )

Well, here's all I can do at the moment. Hope it helps. Ignore the hole and crack patches in the plastic bellypan - a jackrabbit at 150MPH (me 150, him too slow) ripped it up and took a section with him.

Thanks Bill, you are the bomb!

That is exactly what I was looking for. It makes perfect sense now. I am definitely missing that front cover.

Next item on my wish list.

Be careful - the first things to disappear are the ducts...!

maybe try to buy a beaten up one that still has the ducts and transplant to a new aluminum tray -they are so much nicer - stock really is a POC.

The original one is still available from Porsche and comes with the ducts. It was $225 last time I checked.

Does anyone have a good pic of the under radiator arms/lips/wings? I'll post the mods that I have had to do in just a few minutes to get mine to fit. Again, I have never put an air dam / spoiler on my car since I purchased it so I don't know what this is supposed to look like. I am also going to have to either modify the holes OR get different washers. Pics on the way.

Should those tabs be folded or back or what?

Michael: I did not bend down any tabs like you show. The fit is tricky with all the tabs on the sides as well. Philips screws with small washers fit up into the holes, 3 on each side, in the bottom of the spoiler. There is a 4th hole at the far ends for a hex head screw from the top. All screws go into speednuts.
