I'm hoping to see this also. Mine will be on order in the next couple of weeks and I'm going to check with the guys in OKC about the ducting. I think they will have it.

Actually, I think a nice drive up there would be fun so we could scrounge up some parts. They have a U-boat load of them.

I don't think "stock" like is east to fabricate at all - but you may be able to make something that works well enough...

The complex shape and construtrion of these suggest Porsche was doing something fancy with airflow, venturi etc I have no idea what but this is no simple duct & flap....

Vaguely remember from the duct replacment year or 2 ago, I think there are left and
right duct pieces.
Memory got jogged seeing the offset top ducting in pictures above.

I just priced one of these factory plastic pans with obviously the ducts and thought it was pretty reasonable at $235 plus shipping, NO TAX from Sunset Porsche, however i do think i would pay more for one of the powder coated aluminum ones and make my own ducts.

I was just suprised by the price as everyone seems to write that they are $400 and up. (928 vendors anyway)

I'm not sure any amount of convincing will get the pan removed from the alleged car being worked on this weekend. That will probably double the project time, as there are 1,167,365 bolts holding it on.

Alan,

After seeing your pictures i definately agree, that is the last thing i would want to try to replicate. Honestly in the pic from the thread about someone selling a damaged one on Ebay, it looked like at the end of the naca duct there was just a metal plate at the end to direct it ip towards the engine. A 3 sided thing, maybe 4 inches wide with 2 inch lips on each end, it didnt look enclosed from the (not so great) picture i saw, but that detailed pic shows that it would be a little project to make them.

what does a proper original plastic belly pan look like?

Ive heard they are easily damaged, and i bet if i bought a new one it was probably made in the 90's anyway and probably not as forgiving as a fresh out of the mold plastic one.

There is a lot going on to the factory piece, that's for sure. I'm thinking a simplified version that just forces the air up would at least help a little.

OK Alan, how much do you want for the piece in your hand?

BTW - I would never buy a stock plastic tray - the aluminum ones are excellent even without the ducts I prefer it - best bet is to transplant the ducts over - but really seems very few people still have them intact.

Was at Earl Gillstrom couple days ago getting car repairs done.
He gave me a brush and bottle of degreaser and told me to go at the bellypans.
I had no idea that the rear metal pan was silver in color.

Only thing that ruins the beauty of the underside of my S4 is the nice pair of dents someone put on the frame rails.
Shoulda had the jack points painted bright orange at the factory.

Rob,
I have a couple of Belly Pans with ducts.
They are for my cars but available to you for measurements etc.
Both off the cars.
