On the window trim kit.. I got the front window and rear quarter kits. I have to admit, I was not overly impressed with them. I followed the instructions to the "T" and took my time. Prepped my surfaces first. The main sections are made well and apply easily. They give you plenty of extra film. The end pieces and corners are of a different material, more like electrical tape. They were harder to get right and were the first to come back off. the main sections have a clear topping that seperated after about 2 months. It may be the Florida sun and heat. It may be I'm a dumbass and did something wrong when installing. (Most likely) Or it could be it's not that great a product. (least likely). Bottom line, it looked great for a couple weeks. I have now peeled it back off. IMO you'd be better off taping it and then painting the trim. Then again for the price, which is very reasonable...it may be worth a temporary fix.

EDIT: Just made aware the clear section should have been removed at installation! Guess I am a dumbass.

Thanks for the info. I just received mine from Jager. I haven't installed them yet, but my first impression was a great big laugh. They looked like a roll of electrical tape, with the corners on a sheet of paper. I'll see how it looks, but may wait until next year to install them.

All of Nicole's products are of high quality, but this is something where a little extra time masking then using some SEM paint will do a much better job and match the factory finish perfectly. The SEM paint is the correct sheen and flatness of the original.

Jim-

Do you happen to have any more specifics on which SEM black is the correct product #to use? Any source for the paint? My trims are starting to go and I'd opt for the long-term solution.

Some of the solutions I offer are time and money savers for keeping the car looking nice, or restoring it with minimal effort. Of course, those are not the same as a full restoration, but I have sold many of them, and helped many sharks to look a lot better than before.

I've heard the "electrical tape" accusation before, but this material is nothing like electrical tape - except maybe the color black. It's a super thin material that conforms to the shape of the trim easily, and hugs it forever. On top of that it protects the trim from further damage. And when you're ready for the full restoration, it can be removed without trace.

Just make sure you remove the clear protective layer when you're done. Jager will update the installation instructions accordingly.

There is a 944 near me that removed all of the metal trim and replaced it withmodern rubber trim. Car looks like a million bucks now and much newer. Has anyone tried it with the 928? I can get pics of the work to sho next week. I've been seriously thinking of giving it a try.
