Well, I assume that 928 Brothers was joking when he posted this. But it appears that people have taken it seriously.

I personally say, to each his own. I personally don't want to own a 911 because I think I would wrap myself around a tree backwards. But if other people love the cars, for whatever reason, I say more power to them.

Personally, I didn't buy my car because it was a "Porsche", I purchased my car because of the incredible bang/buck ratio.

Yep - I've decided BigGuy.

Perhaps I was hasty, but being a fellow Canadian (born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario), I felt it my duty to curb your drivel before it got out of hand.

Let's play nice now.

poor formatting of the text.

i was trying to make the 914 an offshoot of the 911, not direct lineage, because it was a porsche/vw cooperation too...

and i know the boxster is not directly from the 914, but the boxster basically is just a new 914... a mid-engine two-seater...

hey, it's all good...

I understand you wanted to play safe. But it's "out of hand" at the very moment it is censored, especially if it doesn't meet the criteria outlined in your own Charter. If we can't rely on your own Charter for the rules, then why bother making a Charter? You don't need to answer the question, cause I know the answer: The Charter is irrelevant and you'll remove posts if you feel like it.

And by the way I was playing nice before you removed the post.

Hmmm. So I'm driving an 88S4 Pacer. Awesome. Well, while we're at it seems to me the Lamborhini Diablo was inspired by the Toyota Celica.

Gosh BigPorscheGuy, I'm guessin' that the folks on the 931 and 924 boards got tired of you, so you decided to make some new friends over here?

There's nothing in the Rennlist charter that says boorish people must be tolerated. Get along or move along - it's your choice.

Having been in this 'fray' before so to speak...

It would appear that there is a diffeerence of opinion here between a couple of youse...

That being said - might I remind all paries involved that this board is for 9or at least what I perceive it to be) is a place to share humour, tips about our cars, and experiences with problems and solutions to them.

I AM NOT 'POINTING FINGERS' in the following-

If I see a Pacer - so be it (it was worth a laugh the first time I saw it - and a cringe as well). I had no probelm with it - some might - but it was not against the rules as I understand them.

Let's all agree to dis-agree here and enjoy this forum for what it is - fun and spirited discussion. I found more heated discussion - that really didn't belong here with the 'terroism' thread about a month ago. No problem though - my skin is tough, and I could choose to read or not at my discretion.

That being said - let's get back to more important things - like, maybe, 'my oil pressure is pegged high' - or maybe 'my HVAC system will only go from full hot to full cold' - or other intersting things.

Randy,
You rat bastard...and I mean that in the nicest possible way!
After months of thrashing stangs', and 'F'bodies, two locals couldn't take it anymore and purchased LS 1 propelled,
automatics... those puppies are awesome.
Is this going somewhere? YEP.
I know those LS-1's can whoop me and Pattycakes, so I just wave or give them a thumbs up as they go by now. That's my choice... I never saw the original thread which you removed but those that did see it you gave free rein to Flame...
Yeah, I browse the other forums and BigPorsche guy gets his share of flames',no big deal. He wasn't posting child ****, just a little heresy!
Just looking at the replies shows that there is a concensus that had a veiw opposing his.
Let it through. We can handle it. At least wipe the whole post AND replies if you feel that strongly about the post. IMO it's all or nothing.
My opinion, not a war.
Yours, Lifetime member of Rat Bastard, INC.
John S. and a somewhat subdued Pattycakes

I went back to the 1978 928 catalogue to check based on Davids comments.
Firstly, what do you expect. If on the rennlist board mainmenu us 911 owners read such a thread. Secondly most of us are fully aware it is mean´t in jest and all my replies are in accordance with jest. If I started a thread on the 911 board that the 928 is a 924 with a V8 I am sure I will get people crossing over to answer.
Now David in the 1978 928 parts catalogue I found yet again the Mercedes auto transmission, this time a 922 p/no. I also found many parts from the 901, 911, 914, 924, 930 and 931.
To me it was joke, it was taken as a joke and was replied in kind.
928 great in a straight line, pity about them corners,
Ciao,
Adrian

Alright - I made a judgement call that Big Porsche Guy decided to take to the next level and make it personal.

Lessons learned.

All you need is love...

And perhaps a coupla drinks and a few cars to lean on while we gather together in cyberspace to do a little bench racing, and technical analysis. No ad hominem attacks, not even any nasty words. No has taken Ferry's name in vain. It all has been rather tame and good humored.

I do agree that the whole terrorism thread got ugly - but this one seems to be 'quite sporting' as our friends in the UK would say.

Just my .02

Dear Tim,
Where I live you could not take your 928 out for a drive. Now the C4, thats a different matter. We will not be seeing our 928 collegues until late March early April 2002, in their 928s that is,
Ciao,

tim,

it's called harmless banter between owners of different models. at the end of the day, we all own a Porsche.

oh my, i hope Adrian isn't permanently scarred because i cast doubt on the purity of his 911. Adrian, are you OK? if you need to talk to a mental health professional, feel free to send me the bill.

grow up? i certainly hope not...
