Custom tube steel subframe?

So, Erkka, give up the info. You're not going to sell any anyway!

Not doing it for $, just want to have long highway gear in GTS without loosing any of the current ratios. While we do three for ourselves might as well do few more for others if there is interest. But sellable product is still long way away.

Default guessing games

My guess is that this will involve the diff from an auto (since its separable), and some more common transmission centre section.

Bump - Erkka, any updates on the manual conversion to 6-speed project?

Having looked into this I think we have good concept how to do it but its all academic until its actually proven to work. Resulting ratios would be pretty much like ROW S4 with 6th overdrive speed added on top and resulting theoretical top speed depending on max revs somewhere in 230-240 mph range. This would be fully syncronised street tranny which can take stock GTS hp and tq and then some. Most likely it would be stronger than GTS 5sp but maybe fell little short on what strongest 928 automatics can take. It would also use stock rear crossmember, driveshafts etc and only minimum number of non Porsche and custom parts. I think this would be very good way of doing automatic to manual conversion also. If we ever have something solid I'll post more info.

No progress for more than a year. Guy who was supposed to do CAD modeling is too busy to work on our project. Eventually we will get job done but it might take years. I will learn to do CAD stuff myself if I have to. How hard can it be.
