If you don't compare the front end to a 928, then it actually looks good. Again, if you compare the rear to an S4, then it's ugly but to me, it's a nice updated GT3 looking blend.
There is too much over the top stuff on this car but if it was a cleaner, less cluddred desing (too many nick-nacks), it would look good.
Where is that 928 with the same colour and has gills? This car remainded me of tha.

[QUOTE=Courtshark;4511341] I like the shortened quarter windows. [QUOTE]
That was the first thing I noticed. I really like the look of those to. The wider B-Pillar area gives it more stance.

Well, thats the orange car I couldnt find a picture of, and the one I was thinking of when I said "I like almost every 928".
Congrats to whoever owns the exception to the rule.

Thank you! This beautifully illustrates my point about round front wheel arches, which make the whole front section look very bulky (and the wheels small by comparison). Of course, in this case that is emphasized by the big bulgy hood...

Some details
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi fellow rennlisters,
Just want to add some details about the car and the build.
The car is built by Sofus Hansen, Faroe Islands. It is a '90 S4 automatic. The front is partly made from a Peugeot 407 (headlights + foglights with surrounding bumper). The rear (below taillights) is partly from the front of a Toyota Avensis. The scoops on the side are GRP moulded, based on design details of a Peugeot scooter.
The front fenders are hammered / flattened out to adapt the new headlights and extensions are made from aluminum. The rear fenders are widened by steel sheet extensions.
The hood is not changed in shape apart from the bulge. I cant tell whether it was moulded GRP or hammered out from existing material. But the fact that the original shape is maintained gives an indication of the "new" length of the car, which is within a centimeter of the original length. But the new headlights sure make look a lot looooonger. The intake is moulded from GRP.
The car is wider than original. It was born 181 cm's wide, and that has been extended by 20 to go beyond 200 cm's. The rear wheels are 18" x 12½".
The interior is unchanged.
If the car needs to be jacked in the rear, the lower arm also needs to be suspended, in order to avoid the wheel fouling against the lower part of the wheel arches.
By chance Topgear stopped by on the Faroes with a Lamborghini, making an article on the theme "How far can You go ?" and their visit coincided with the completion of the 928, and shot a lot of pictures. They paid Sofus a visit in his shop, where he built the car. In addition to the 928 he had a VW Beetle, also taken beyond immediate recognition, a Harley Davidson built to the same degree of graphic vision and craftsmanship, and an early 70'ties Corvette, modified to an extent far beyond that of the 928, competently enhancing the lines of the Vette of that time. More shots, many more shots !
According to the guys from Topgear, Sofus and his creations will appear in a future issue of Topgear Magazine.
