Default A Startling Discovery!

My 928 is not mouse-tight! It never sits without the windows up, but as I was driving yesterday, I felt something on my shoulder, then down my arm ran a mouse, fairly good sized one at that, which then jumped out the window, at speed (I've never seen a mouse commit suicide before). It never occured to me to check the car from time to time for mice. Does anyone else?

I leave the garage door open when I am working on the car and 5 days ago saw a small mouse running around in there. I saw it again 2 days ago. No signs of mouse in the house or I would be concerned.
I briefly contemplated a trap and then decided that I did not mind a visit now and then by the little guy while I am working on the car.

During my PPI two years ago, the mechanic found some mouse nesting material and seeds inside the plumming leading to the air filter housing.
Check your wiring, sometimes they will nibble on insulation.

Don't over oil your mouse, it will kill the MAF.

Boy, hopefully they don't like German wiring as much as the mice in our garage liked Japanese wiring- $330 worth of some engine harness, which although didn't prevent the car from running, tripped the CEL and prevented getting it smogged. I caught the bugger in a glue trap and dispatched him (I work with mice at work and get bitten all the time- no love lost for 'em!)

Absolutely not! I use squirrels. Their speed far outweighs their extra weight.

Yes but squirrels don't do to well with the MAF burn off cycle.

I removed about four or five dead mice from my car when I got it. They had built a nest in the air filter and crapped and left acorns in the valley. They also chewed a big hole right through the heart of the 7-way vacuum splitter. I'd say if your car sits for more than a week at a time and you've seen mice, get a trap for the garage.

I had one crawl out from under the hood while I was driving down the street. he say on my wiper and looked at me through the windshield and then crawled back under the hood. I've been keeping mothballs under the hood when parked and bouce sheets in the car. I haven't seen any signs of mice since. I also bought some ultrasonic mouse deterrents that seem to keep them out of the garage. When I bought the place last year, the garage was like wild kingdom. I found mice, a rather irritable snapping turtle the size of a chevy hubcap and several toads. Now I'm just down to spiders...lots and lots of spiders

I presume you meant 'bounce" sheets. Do they work against mice?

Mice eat the bounce sheets and then die a horrible death from internal bleeding. I hope you can sleep at night.
