Here's a neat unit I got from Dozman's donor car...it plays MP3 and actually folds up and recesses into the dash to look like the face-plate is missing (as a theft-deterrent) when the car is turned off. No need to remove and remember where you put a detachable face-plate.

My humble apologies to the purists out there, but the radio compliments nicely my Momo Millenium steering wheel and auto (black) shifter:

Gregory-
The Tokyo is very similar to the Muenchen I installed & I'm happy with it- though less happy now that I've seen what you paid!
Sorry I can't run down to Galveston tomorrow but have fun with it. If this is your preferred e-mail I'll have my campaign manager Max add it to the Texas 928 database.
Cheers,
Donald

I just installed this JVC KD-LX333. Like Big Dave's, it folds up to look like a blank black panel for security (and IMHO incredible slickness!). One of its nice features is the volume ****. Most new head units just have up/down buttons, which aren't as convenient for quick volume adjusts.

Also comes with a remote control. I'm still trying to figure out why I need a remote control from a device that can't be more than two feet away while I'm using it.

If the stock look isn't important, this one's worth checking out.

Hey Brett,
Thanks for the tip. I was in the market for a new am/fm/cd player. Ordered one from sbh today and saved over $100.00.
Thanks again )

This is an off the wall idea and could be rather pricy. What audio deck comes in the current 911?.
Probably a bad Idea but ......

Or what deck came with the 95 GTS?. Probably another bad idea being the year made.

I run a Pioneer (removable face) tuner w/cassette deck only. High Power 45x4 channels.
Rather inexspensive, fits perfectly and great sound w/stock speakers.

Pioneer KEH-P1010 Super Tuner 45x4 ECQ
Comes with external CD/pre amp hook ups.

What about XM Band? have you thought of going Satellite?

Thanks Donald,

I looked at the Muenchen as well, and if I did not have a black dash and console and, I would have gone with it. If it were not for the colors on my sharks interior, I would have easily chosen the Muenchen over the Toyko and never wouldv'e even considered the Toronto. Meunchen and Tokyo have a lot of great features and are pretty efficiently organized in the display and features. (skyline rules!)

I have seen some pretty cool looking setups in 928 owners cockpits as I mentioned before with the brushed aluminum accents, particularly when the interior colors and acents match it. The brushed aluminum accent available from 928 specialists come to mind. I know when I can afford it, I am giving them a ring for some new carpet and possibly some leather as well.

I am so anxious for hte UPS fella to show up tommorow 10-17-02 with my devek radiator and hoses. (feels like christmas eve)

A new brake system is next from the fine folks of 928 International.

Lets hear it for the big three! hip..hip..HORRAYY!

We are so blessed as a comunity to have such great people both as owners and as suppliers.

The radio topic can be a subjective topic, just as car colors and wheels can be. And then there is the whole debate about 16v or 32v. (pretty happy with my 16v here, although I would definately have one of each if I had the $$$)

anyway, i seem to be getting a little

so in closing, get what you want as long as it isn't one of those gawd awful $10.00 walmart roadmaster stereo in a box kits. I mean like totally puh-lease. Fer sure dude, get a bitchin system and jam. (oops, caught back it the 80's again) My 84S is calling, gtg

I have thought about replacing my perfectly-matching toronto with the new Porsche trip computer radio thingy.

It looks like it belongs, but the issue is that it, I don't think, can go darker like the toronto can to match the dash.

Thanks for the vote of appreciation morganabowen, but I took a look at Wally's Blaupunkt site, and went with the CD2001 unit, and I am VERY pleased with how that all came out, as well as saving over $110 from what I had been looking at before!

Wally!

That's a vote in your corner and well deserved I might add. I've looked at that site several times since you first suggested it but just can't decided on the right unit yet. Hmmmmm...Toronto maybe…O.K…who has one they want to part with?
