Default 85-86 Intake whistle?

Does your ICV/IAC whistle at idle? Mine does, only at particular times, but it's quite loud.

Mine whistles at idle, I keep thinking its got a vac leak, but I can't find one anywhere...lately its been drowned out by the power steering pump howling. Between the whistle and the howl ,people think its supercharged, haha...!1

WHAT TUNE IS IT WHISTLING ?
I would look for a vacuum leak my was doing that after a intake rebuild.
You have a lot of places to get air into the best way is to smoke test it.

No whistles from mine. I just redid all the rubber and vacuum hoses, though.

Mine whistled, after my R&R intake. The rubber boots didn't seal properly. Try moving pushing in intake ends, and it will stop.

Porken,

I have an 85, did the intake R&R and new vaccum lines, no whistle. While idleing see if any play on the rubber boots.

Mine whistles a bit as well. I see it as a good thing because it means my LH is working.

I agree with bimmermike move your intake you may hear the pitch "note " change. Try to tighten that after you warm up the motor. If you pull them off turn them inside out you may see some cracks wash off to get rid of all the oil and clean the pipes.
