Hi,

its a shame you steering wheel is on the left (the right side!?!) we have it on the other side and rules and regulations deny us to drive cars like that down under unless they are 30+ years old.
Still don't understand the logic, as a 1965 Mustang isn't safer and has a longer braking distance than a 1991 GT with the steering on the left.......

Best regards from Down Under

Martin

Lightening up a 928 starts easy and gets harder. Removing an interior just takes time and isn't hard, removing sound deadener takes lots of time and is (in my opinion) a very hard job.

Interior parts have variable value depending on their condition. They key here is if you are going to drive the car to the track, and it is just a D.E. car, then you won't really want to remove too much as the car quickly becomes very loud to drive on the street. Say you remove the rear interior quarter panels, they might be 15 pounds each, but unless you scrap all the deadener off, the interior of the car is now quite ugly and you will start hearing road noise, etc. I would suggest for a street driven D.E. car such a change doesn't make sense.

Another thing to consider is that removing interior parts will change the 928 from a 50/50 balanced car, and you will want an adjustable suspension to deal with that. Is that only 86.5 on?

Does anyone know Drewsters track car?

How much work is it to pull out everything out and lighten a 928? Aside from any upgrades...

Some pictures from a different thread - Ill try to find some other shots but I may have to wait till i get home around 700PM MST.

not too pretty but very functional...

no dyno sheets, but had some comparison tests over the years. easily walks a new Corvette or an old Z06. Lost about a half a car length to a new Z06 through 4th gear. That should put it close to a 500HP car...
