Question Looking for "Porsche 928 Electrics" pdf

I found mention of this piece on Sharkskin's site and would like to read it:

"Porsche 928 Electrics"

Anyone have a link for this? I tried a search and was unsuccessful for some reason.

Thanks in advance.

You can download some of it here.

You can buy the rest of it as well.

Guys - its actually not quite ready yet so hold off on any requests for the full thing...

You can download the Wiring Diagram Primer document which is rreally just the first chapter of about 20 - though even that is not quite 100% either yet...

This website is just in a test mode at this point - it is not live for business - and there are no services available yet.. I did not publicise the site deliberately to avoid traffic.

Jebjerg - how the heck did you find this??

I guess I'll have to put it into a hidden test release mode again. - I'll keep the Wiring Diagram Primer up for download - but please provide comments on its usefulness and any errors/issues you see with it.

Sorry to ruin the party but I thought Randy posted a message that rennlist has gotten in trouble with Porsche for being a facilitator to distribute their copyright materials?

Giovanni - you miss the point - these materials are not Porsche copyright documents - all are my copyright.

There are no Porsche documents included, this is an all a new document. Any small snippets of Porsche diagrams embedded are for illustrative purposes only and are very small parts of any page and not in any way useful in their own right.

This document requires you already have the factory wiring diagrams - else it will be worthless to you.

Alan--

Let me know if I can offer beta, proofreading, content, whatever. I've also done a few partial redraws of the WSM drawings for my car to make them readable. It's time consuming at first but a great way to figure stuff out as well as find mistakes.

This is a most excellent project!

Dr Bob - yes at some point I will need to send the whole thing out for another round... its a bit of a daunting prospect though...

Thus far its been difficult to get useful feedback - even from the usually reliable sources... I will let you know when its ready... Also if you do have material to contribute (e.g. redrawn current flow type diagrams for systems in later models etc - I would be most interested).

Well, hmmm. That bites.
Out of respect for the owner, I will not go there. Sounds like it'll probably be moved by now anyhow.

Alan, please announce your unveiling; will be waiting in line with my ailing shark.

Alan-

I did a large print of the AC electrics for shared diagnostic purposes. Otherwise I have markups of the stereo wiring for my own car. Each panel takes a few hours to do, so it's not something that happens for fun. If there's a specific illustration, diagram or section you'd like to have I can do them for you though. For instance, I was looking at the ground points diagram last weekend as I was trying to dioagnose a no-fans problem. A better copy of the WSM drawing you incorporated, plus a photo showing the actual location? That's what was ripling through my head as I worked out the fan problem. Sound familiar?

I do a little technical writing as part of my little retirement activities. Most find my stuff fairly easy to read.

I can't imagine the amount of work that went into this review of the electrical system. I am blown away by this latest version. Is there a 928 Hall of Fame?
Please contact me as soon as this is complete and for sale.

Bill - yes it has evolved quite a bit - the biggest change is to the scope of the whole thing. The very original intent has been done for a while.

Dr Bob - I'm actually in need of an electrical HVAC write up and schematic (~generic across S4+ ideally). I am not really an expert in this area and I know you are...

Karen - pls feel free to take what is there - it will be updated though... note that the full document will take some time... I have about 2 years into it already... and while it is getting close - its painstaking work & needs lots of revisions - it can't really be hurried...

As you can see though I'm close enough to completion to be prepareing for it by registering a domain and preparing for publication... however this is rather sooner disclosure of this than I intended...

Alan
