Please contact me as soon as this is complete and for sale.
I'm sure the rave review posts from the early purchasers will tip the rest of us off that it's available, but just the same, count me in for a CD-ROM version when you're happy with the ready-for-prime-time edition. Maybe a table next to Nicole at SF'07 might help move a couple o' copies?

EDIT- No rush, of course- your baby is ready when your baby is ready!

I agree with Rob - looks absolutely fantastic. Finally, a comprehensive and understandable guide for wiring illiterates like me! Can't wait for the finished product. If you are compiling a list, please put me down for a copy.

Thanks, Alan, for the permission. May your time spent on the project pay off in early retirement (if you're not yet there).

I could really use this tool. For some reason my Morehouse CD doesn't have the diagram and I am having some issues tracing down a clutch pedal saftey switch issue.

PM me an email address and I will send you a copy of the wiring diagram primer.

The full document wil not be available for free - but in any case it isn't ready yet.

The Wiring Diagram Primer will help you understand the Porsche Factory Workshop Manual - Wiring Diagrams - you have to have those available or it won't help.

I've got the primer, and my manuals (CD version) doesn't have the wiring diag. Or I'm just stupid and can't find it.

Great job thus far.

This is a must have for all late model 928 owners...I'm definitely interested. Looks like it takes a huge amount of work to get this document completed..evenings and weekends?

Well yes it was and still is a huge undertaking... it is getting close..

Currently at about 400 pages - there are just a few areas that need major work - plus many that still need improvement. The minor improvements may have to wait till after the initial release ... the plan was always to keep working on it over time - no doubt even the parts that I consider done will turn out to have some errors that need fixing. I also have about 20 common 928 electrical projects documented and expect to add to these over time too. I actually have ideas or outlines for about 50 projects some very simple all the way up to a few of the dauntingly complex ones...

As for time - yes I've been squeezing whatever time has been possible - so far its been going since the summer of 2005 - with over 1000 hours spent on it so far - not including the project implementations. So for an ~40 hour week that would still be about half a years solid work

Obviously it has been more like 1-2 hours a day for me for well over 2 years... The advantage is I understand almost every part of the electrical system well - the downside is pretty obvious.

Sean - even the full document assumes you have the FWM - Wiring Diagrams. If you got your set from Jim Morehouse check you are looking at everthing - he also has a manuals only set I believe - you may want to contact him about that.

I did just send Jim the latest version of the Wiring Diagram primer to go out in his next CD set.
