Interior opinions sought
I got my wife's '82 928 back from the paint shop, and am blown away by the work Travis (TC Concepts, Topeka KS) did on it. It looks as good or better than new, seriously. Now, I want to make the interior match...
The exterior is pewter silver, with GTS mirrors and rear spoiler on it. The interior was "Miami Vice Blue" in mostly bad condition. I am thinking about doing charcoal grey alcantara coverings for the dash, pod, console, upper door panels, a-pillars, headliner and rear quarter panels from either Rob or Paul, early 911 sport seats in black german vinyl (just because I already have them and they look nice), re-dye the leather door handles to black, and install a medium light grey carpet set. The rear seats will be deleted and custom (minimized) storage will be installed to smooth out the rear hatch area.
Opinions/comments/suggestion?
Regards,

Who is Ron? Or do you mean Rob, as in Budd, of the 928leathershop.com? If you mean Rob, definitely go with him, and have him throw some Pascha/op-art fabric up in there!!

Yup, Rob... sorry, I have edited the original post.
No Pasha for me (um, well... specifically my wife, its her car). Cool stuff, tho!

Well - I'd recover the sports seats to match - Vinyl will look and be very out of place if you do the rest of what you propose - which sounds just fine.

Now, if you have a hankerin' for ostrich skin, your choice is made!
But seriously, both of those guys do killer work. I've seen stuff from both of 'em, and you won't go wrong with either!

Both Paul and Rob do excellent work!
With a silver exterior.....black interior always looks good...but it sounds like you want a gray tone color...classic grey also looks very nice, or a combo or black and classic grey would ge cool.....I do like the dark blue interiors......on silver or dark blue 928's......maybe a dark blue-classic gray.....two tone....that would be cool....of course I am partial to the tan-black two tone I have...but not in a silver 928

Scott:
can you share details in the forum or PM on the extent of your respray and cost? I am going with Paul on a new interior; charcoal sound nice with the pewter, mine is linen inside black, and I may change to light silver interior.

Donald

I had Travis Charboneau of TC Concepts in Topeka do the work. He was phenomenal to work with and did a top notch job. The only thing that he asked was to be able to do a complete job with no shortcuts and to be allowed to take his time, which I was agreeable to. It took 8 months from start to finish, but part of the delay was in me getting him parts, as I was busy with work and a number of personal projects besides this one during that time.
The car had been in several collisions and had several partial resprays, plus badly faded/peeling original paint on the hood and top, and corrosion starting underneath the rear spoiler prior to us buying it. The front spoiler had been removed and the mounting holes filled, and the grill was missing. THe car was pretty straight, all things considered but still needed some work to be perfect.
Travis properly prepped the car, striaghtened this items that needed work and removed and filled the rear wiper, drivers side antenna mounting and front headlight squirters. He also repaired a somewhat damaged front spoiler, prepped the aftermarket GTS spoiler and repaired some previously unnoticed damage to the front quarter that caused some misalignment. He then shot the car with Matrix product (I am not familiar with it but he uses it exclusively and has consistently good results with it) and then reassembled the car, using the mostly new seals that I provided.
Total cost for everything (including getting the mirrors, spoilers, replacement glass and trim)... $5,300.00. I've seen some $10,000 + paint jobs that didn't look near as good. I would post some pics but only have shots from my phone and they don't come close to doing the car justice. I will see if I can get some good shots this weekend. Very well worth it, imo and the look on my wifes face when she saw the final results, priceless!

My car is artic Silver with a classic gray interior. Seats and door panels by Paul Champagne. His work is perfection defined. I also deleted the rear seats. I prefer the monotone look with just some of the original parts in black for some contrast. I think the alcantara for the pod and dash sounds good. Be sure to post pictures when your done.

Paul Champagne donated a recovered steering wheel to the Rennwish Jim Cooper car project and as you said, it was perfect.
Jim, your interior is awesome!

I love those seats.
Scott, I think a black and silver/gray two-tone interior would look awesome. And it would be pretty rare too, since I don't think I've ever seen one like that on a 928.
