Default New 4.7 Still available

The 4.7 we built and barely broke in, only a few hours on the engine, and is still For Sale.
It is a euro M28-11 with new rings, seals, bearings and completely gone through. It dynoed at 250rwhp with the euro intake and heads.
It will fit any US 2 valve project.
It is on an engine stand right now , sealed up and with an oil pan.

$1500

Is this the Kibort Race Engine Donation Thread... where world renowned 928 racers help aspiring race newcomers up the slippery and expensive road to a racing career? ("Snapped camshaft in my 1st autocross =DNF") Someday I would like to be on the track with you and Scott, the more Sharks the better.

Otherwise, I will have to go back to saving money for the PRF (Porsche Racing Fund)

Not this particular thread.

This is the, "Been there, done that, here is a way to save $1000 and a bunch of time" thread.

Yes, you would have to swap all the stuff you have now, on to this shortblock.
It all goes together pretty easily when the engines are out of the car.

the only gaskets you would need are head gaskets. and possibly the intake gaskets if they are not in good shape. (exhaust gaskets are usually in pretty good shape so usually, you can reuse them)

There's no advantage to having a Euro bottom end if you don't have the heads to go with it. The pistons are cut for the bigger cam and bigger valves. That's it!

This motor was the topic of conversation today at our DFW gathering. It would seem that, Mark, you are asking a fantastic price on it, and several people are interested.

Good luck with the sale.

There is an advantage of using an almost brand new engine though!

Yes, a 4.7 is a 4.7, however, even though the cuts are bigger for the euro cams, there is no dish cut on the pistons. Im guessing its the same compression or slightly higher with the euro pistons. I measured 6ccs for the euro cut pistons, Ive heard the US 4.7 pistons are 8ccs.

Mark:

I can't believe that you still have that engine......someone local should pick it up and keep it as a spare.

with a fast wrench, 8 hours later you could have a brand new engine. PLUS, there are a lot of euro heads floating around. just that alone, could bring any pre S4 in to near S4 like performance!
