Yes. The reverse indiglo in black with white numbers. This will have an exact factory look during the day, and just the numbers, letters and lines glowing at night. See pictures of reverse indiglo above. My order today should make 11. We need nine more. You can order today and finalize your options later, when they actually tool them.

Thats how I ordered mine, black face with white backlit fonts execpt I went with the Beetle font just to add a little twist. I also was thinking about black light led's just to front light the needle.

There are alot of "How To" internet pages on these new type of gauges. Very easy to make and cheap! Just do them over an electro-luminescent sheet and cut. Here is a page, but there are dozens of these on the net.<a href="http://russ.angrypacket.com/howto/carstuff/diy-indiglo-gauges/" target="_blank">"How To Make"</a> </strong><hr></blockquote>

HEY WHAT HAPPENED TO MY POST????? #($&(#@!!!!!
What they should do it use the boxster font, like on the boxster guages.

About the needle, why not just get some new light up needle and put a light in the guages that shines through the center and refracts through the needle(like most new cars do)

Or for the black light thing, just get some black light LED's.

i think these look pretty good with the dual color, the blue only ones look kinda ricey.

That would work, but different needles would require each of the gauges to be recalibrated, because of the difference in the needle weight.

Anyone have a source for black light LEDs?

I like this two colour reverse look also, these look as nice as anything anyone has given a link to yet.

I'm interested, but gawd, there are so many possibilities, my brain hurts. Gotta have good needle illumination at night, bright warning lights, dimmer electronics would be important. Sharp focus with no blooming or smear at night.

Any suggestions?

I am thinking that the correct brightness level of the original instrument lighting and the reverse indiglo will be perfect. The instrument lighting turned down a bit will be enough light to illuminate the needles, but will not drown out the glow of the numbers and letters. If we get 6 more orders, I will be able to find out.

The only thing I see wrong is that there is no MPG gauge on the ones they are planning to make. Is there any way to get that? Also, are there any blacklights that can replace the normal lights? That way, they will glow too. My uncle invented a spray paint that is INVISIBLE but will show whatever color you order under a blacklight. So, it will look normal orange in any lighting, and the paint color shows up in the blacklight. If you don't want it anymore, it washes right off with water or windex. Maybe that would add some coloring options for the needles.

Look at the first page of this thread and the first pictures that Weissach posted. You will see the mpg gauge. This will be an option that you give them when tooling begins. It should not be a problem since they supposedly have all options between 77 and 88 covered. Looks like we may make it to 20 soon.

Hey, forget the MPG guage ive heard they dont work well any way, i have a turbo and need the boost gauge, a bit more important than mpg!

And i think we should push for the porsche/boxster font(take a look at the boxsters gauges, the have the numbers just like the fonts for "911" "928 GTS" "968" etc.)

Oh and the stock needles glow pretty bright under black light as they are.

Hmm, remembering some halloween haunted houses from my youth, one would think that any true "day-glow" color would produce the proper effect under true black light.

I posted this as a sperate topic, but wanted to post on this thread as well. The auto version for the 928 is currently not available at speedhut. It will be another seperate 20 orders and an auto cluster to do the auto version. That makes 40 orders total. Probably hard to reach for such a rare car. If you have ordered for your auto, I suggest you contact them, since they have no way of producing the auto version at this point. Oh well, back to the drawing boards. Too bad, I loved that look.

Something smells bad...they're seeing the orders pile up and now want a reason to move the goal to 40 instead of 20.
