I HATE these kumho tires (rant)
what pieces of garbage. Tonight I had a need to stop the car in a hurry... I got her stopped but not in an impressive manner at all... felt like i was trying to stop my old fiero gt... I had all 4 locked up on dry road and they just slid and they locked up really easy....
My tires on my dads old chebby step side held the road better than these... what JUNK.
They are coming off next week. I want my car to handle like a porsche not a camaro..
rant off.

Trade 'em in on Kumho's Ecsta MXs...I love mine for 3 season driving, and while I don't track 'em, they can be pushed with predictably good results. For example, running the Dragon on 'em last year was a real pleasure.
I've got 225/45/17s and 255/40/17s.

I have had wonderful experiences with Kumho tyres. But not the low-end cheap *** ones, cheapies will suck no matter what you do. All brands. If you don't pay you don't play.

I've heard good things about the MX's.....nice performance tire for a good price.....I rode in RichS 87 5 speed at the track & it handles quite well with 225/255 17"s MX's & koni shocks......it felt like it had at least as much grip as my Conti Sport Contact II's in 235 & 265 18".........I did notice they didn't squeal as much when pushed really hard.....

I agree low end Kumhos suck. There are times, in my Hyundai Getz with it's factory fit Kumho Powerstar never wear out tyres, that I could be forgiven for thinking it had a lot more horses than it really has judging by the amount of wheelspin.

I HIGHLY recommend either Goodyear F1 GS-D3, or Advan Neovas. I've got the Advans on the shark, and they are awesome in dry or wet. I say the same about the Goodyears, but I've only run them on my 911. Both scored at the top rungs in the "infamous" C/D evaluation the year before last.
