Hey guys, I don't have the molds but i do have the originals I had these made by a guy near Manchester in the UK as one offs to fit the Hella projector lamps, theres a simple bracket installed behind holding the lamps.

For some reason i can't seem to post new pics - i keep getting a message saying Ive exceeded some kind of limit?? Otherwise id take some pics and post them for anyone interested.

Porken, the car is an 86 S2 so I guess it has the ABS pump in there. The beam distribution isn't the best for very high speed at night but it passes both the MOT test in the UK and the WOF test here in NZ.

Mr Fixer, i didn't consider manually raising the headlights..

Andrew,

He did not buy another 928... He bought back the very same orange 928 which is being discussed on here!

He is definitely certifiable

No ****!? Well that explains a lot!

Now that I think about it, he may have made mention of that to me. Cool!

The aluminum 928 fenders and hood are a work of manufacturing art, they're extremely light.

If ever able, pick up an air cooled 911 fender or trunk lid. They are heavy and worth replacing with oftentimes ill fitting fiberglass pieces.

In my opinion there is no reason to replace the lightweight 928 hood or fenders, money is better spent elsewhere.

If going to the trouble manufacture a drop in replacement…I would make it fill the hole more since it will not be moving instead of copying the way the stock light looks. Get rid of the gaps both in diameter and height. Maybe even make it not round so it fills the front of the recess more. And would look at a lexan cover to make it look more like current model headlights.

I like the idea of the lexan cover, if only someone with the skills to do so would fabricate this.

Fill whole recessed headlight area instead of just replacing the headlight itself.

I think it could be made so you don't have to change the fender, just fills the recess.

RKD that ends up looking very much like the Strosek, personally i prefer the way mine sit in there.

Dave, i still feel like a visitor (to the list, not NZ!!) who dropped by to see how the poorly inmates are getting on as I'm not actually driving a 928 - its still in a workshop - it seems its this cars eternal home!

Guys, deleting the popup headlights has some major drawbacks in terms of illumination and service. The Bosch 0301340002 lense (projector) lamps on the red Strosek car (picture post #35) are low beam only. It is alright about the same illumination as the popup headlights. The only driving lights remaining are the auxiliary lamps and they are very poor. Installing Xenon lamps did some improvement making it possible to drive the car on the open road at night.

The original brackets from Strosek holding the projector lamps were very poorly made. I had to spend quite some extended time in fabricating and installing new brackets made of stainless sheet metal.

Changing the light bulb or adjusting the projector lights can only be done from underneath. The car must be lifted up, the front wheels and the plastic mudguards have to be removed in order to get access.

The only advantage (if not better look is an advantage) having the shaft and electrical motor out of the car is more space for an intercooler if you plan to go that route.
