Alright, the body guy said those inserts can easily be done in 1-piece but would require both fenders removed to mock-up. He said the pics looks like they were started from molding a curved headlight. He said the back-sides could be body glued to underside offenders permanently and be light weight with no brackets required once an adjustable projector is installed

Drnick,

Did you think about a way to lift the stock headlamps without the motor.

I thought when i deleted my hood latch that the latch release cable could be used to raise the headlamps.

I of course moved onto more productive things.

It would be a trick modification though, the headlamps being a signature design feature, but a bit heavy as a assembly.

Again, nice work! And i dig your 928!

The fenders are not replaced, just modified. Bosch lense headlights.

The strosek look is Great, however that would be a Very exspensive modification And permanent.

I would think the other option being discussed would be much more affordable and should be reversible.

drnick's car looks bad-butt, and Vittorio always had a good hand in making things look beautiful.

Wouldn't be permanent if you did it on a second set of fenders…maybe something lighter than the aluminum fenders? The main idea is weight savings right?

But now your talking about a huge undertaking and expense, not only would you have to fabricate said fenders but they would have to be painted to match. Way to much for most owners. I was thinking more like a kit that would replicate the OP's headlight setup.

Going off what LS1porch did with the 944 projector lens mod, I dont see why a 7" bucket can't be modded to tilt a projector and drop them right in and toss the 928 motor. Also I see what MrFixer says about adapting a cable draw to the bar mechanism and dumping the motor.

Shades of my old Saab Sonett!! (Still haven't found the illustration of the front spoiler I've been looking for...)

Post '85, the ABS pump gets in the way of the best placement of the projector housings I tried.
(Top of opening, slightly inboard of center for least beam cutoff.)

I've been daydreaming lately of vertical pop-ups with projectors. Rising straight up out of the fender, a la 007 mini rocket launchers.

Think the "Storsek" part is still available through ClubAutosport:

Nice find Hans

I just glanced at the link havent had a chance to look into it in detail, off hand do you know how much modification is needed to fit these? My big concern is being able to reverse the setup. If this is indeed reversable this could be a winner.
