Thanks, all y'all.
I've almost got enough orders that I can pay for (20) to be made, and that will probably be that. The leftovers I'll sell at a higher price until they are gone. I think they'll be enough out there after this run so that folks can find one to borrow or rent.
If you'd like to order now at the current, lower price, click on my signature, or (here), or email/PM me if you'd like to send a check/MO.
Thanks to the folks pre-ordering PKsn'rs too! I will post a thread about those once this batch is ordered.

Hi Ken
I have been watching your develpment, but not that closely. I have just put a Euro 4.7 S motor in the cab, and want to get everything out of it I can short of boosting(for now). Will I see improvement from trimming the cam timing with this motor, and a 5 speed? Is there a post somewhere here where someone has BTDT data with this setup? I clicked on the 16v link and I see a number of kits. Which one would I want?
Thanks,
-Karl

Karl,
I don't know how it be with the manual. I miss having some advance with the auto, even on my '86, which I have set straight up, right now. It will run more smoothly, but unless you already have HTD gears, I don't know if it would be worth it.
The different options for the 16V'r are all for how you want to source (and machine) the 32V hubs that the cam gear mounts to.
With a 78-79 engine, you can (use Mercedes offset cam keys to change the timing), but not with the Euro S.

So, for an 80 4.7 Euro S, I want ROW hubs? I'm just a bit confused about this because I thought the sprockets etc were the same. I am lazy and cheap, so I guess that means the used....

I'm confused. I have an 84 US and a 78 Euro. What do I need to order so that I can use this tool? You mentioned machining, please elaborate. I would need some 32v cam gears right? Would I be able to use one tool on both cars or is there something in this kit that stays on the car?
Thanks
Thanks

Karl,
The ROW options are if you live outside the US. Shipping is included in the price, so fur'en people pay more.
For the 16V, the 32V hubs (3-leg spiders) need to be machined down ~3mm for proper spacing on the 16V cams. Some folks can do this themselves, or know someone who can.
1 Yes.
2 You need the 16V'r kit (pic). The 32V'r tool doesn't work on the 16V engine.
3 See above.
4 Yes, and 83-95 HTD (round tooth) crank and oil pump gears.
5 You could have one set of 16V tools, and multiple cars. I have a few extra sets of 'clamp rings', which stay on the engine.
I'll add a pair of clamp rings option on the price page. I'll make a new page for the 16V'r, as the list is getting too big!

Nick,
No, the heads/rear covers are too different.
...
I've sent in the order. I should start mailing the tools early next week.
