Heheh...looks like my wife is logging in under your account.

Stuff breaks. **** happens. These are old cars. I'll keep at it until it's no longer an option to repair, financially or otherwise.

Best advice is to not tell the S.O/wife how much it costs...

How did that cam cover bolt work out for you?

Glad to see it's running again - been watching the saga of your car since I joined RL.

Nah, she knows. If I hid the costs, she'd start doing the same.

I've mentioned to Lisa the stuff you've done to your car. She shouldn't sit near your wife on Saturday.

****, I keep wondering what catastrophe awaits mine. $10K dollars and 300+ hours of labor and I've never driven mine on the street. I've got a hot Czech friend with benefits who's in town this week. If this car doesn't turn out to be the driving equivalent of f!(*ing her, I'm gonna be very disappointed.

Well said, Mel! I agree, and am definitely humbled by Big Dave's committment...and while I keep my fingers crossed that it should never happen to me that I suffer a catastrophic failure, I hope that if I do, I can muster the same courage.

See you this weekend, Big Dave!

Dave,
Kelley's A/C hadn't worked in two years and I didn't want to keep pumping freon into a system that I knew was leaking badly. (Manifold showed zero pressure!) Black leather seats are just no fun on hot and humid days so she wasn't driving her car much. Earlier this summer I tackled the upgrade. It took me a good 8 hours to find and replace all the o-rings. The rear air expansion valve was the only one corroded, but I replaced both valves. The aftermarket receiver just needed shimming to fit the bracket. Getting the compressor back in was a pain, but nothing compared to what you have done already on your car. Luckily, I got everything to seat right the first time but there were a few spots where it was hard to be sure no matter how meticulous I was (like in the cowling area going to the front evaporator.) I'm glad I did it...she is driving the car a lot more than she did last summer.

Give our regards to everyone in Hell...we are back east for a wedding on Saturday.
