Thanks John K. for your kind words regarding my hood. Even if you did title the pic "Redneck928" LMAO!!!!!!! Thanks for posting it. It's something that has to be seen to be believed. :-) With the American flag motiff, we have decided that it is now a "Germerican 928". I sent you an e-mail with the rquested info. Thanks again.

Greg, you are the man!!!!!!!! Helping dogs and Harley riders alike, all in one day. I sure hope there is someone like you around when/if I ever need some help. The world is a better place because of good samaritans like you. :-)

What a great time. Dave and Jeannie did a great job! Too bad the clouds were down lower than 6000 feet! Maybe it should be called Sharks in the Clouds instead of SITM. Somewhere in the cloud, there are about 80 sharks parked.

Cool

Yeah,
I counted 79, and there were occational sharks arriving, and departing, Who knows how many actually showed up?
This beats my count of last year.
David, Jeannie, any real actual attendance count?

JE,

Looking at that pic, I think DR deserves a collective Rennlist "high five" <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" />

(and I don't mean for inviting Mark Anderson)

Some of my better photos from SITM.

I've gathered these along with many more into <a href="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/" target="_blank">a separate photo album</a>.

Friday: Arrival
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0002.jpg" alt=" - " />

This is a picnic? How the hell are we going to find the food? Or a bathroom?
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0004.jpg" alt=" - " />

DR in his (or Jeannie's?) 85 Euro (I think).
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0007.jpg" alt=" - " />

Time for everybody to take some photos.
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0009.jpg" alt=" - " />

Mt. Mitchell. Is there really a restaurant here somewhere?
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0010.jpg" alt=" - " />

On Sunday around noon after most people had already begun the trek home, a few of us die-hards (9 sharks and their occupants) decided to go for another drive in the twisties. This was an opportunity I couldn't resist, being a Kansan who's usually about 500 miles from the nearest twisty road. In this photo, Helen and I are behind Dave and Jeannie in their '90 GT and Marc White and Teri in their recently restored and painted Euro (it sounded as great as it looked, too! -- we opened our sunroof so we could listen!)
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0020.jpg" alt=" - " />

A break from the intense driving. Hmmm... fog for a change.
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0024.jpg" alt=" - " />

The standard mirror shot.
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0027.jpg" alt=" - " />

You know, the fog and drizzle seemed like a nuisance at the time, but it actually made for some pretty dramatic photos!

A few more photos. These are the last ones I'll post; you'll have to go to <a href="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/" target="_blank">the album</a> to see the rest.

We moved to the end of the pack so I could admire some nice hind ends and Helen could get some photos from this angle.
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0028.jpg" alt=" - " />

Hmmm... this one almost looks like a TV commercial or something.
<img src="http://www.ed.scherer.name/Porsche_928S4/2003-SITM/images/crop0029.jpg" alt=" - " />

We're moments away from going our separate ways. Maybe we'll see you all next year!

More photos - we just returned after extending SITM by adding a weeks vacation. Thanks to Dave and Jeannie for hosting the event it was great. Jeannie maybe next year you could add peoples Rennlist name to their nametags, I would recognize more people.

Special thanks to Dave and Jane who hung back with us on the BRP. 13 of us at MM1 and 100 yards later my wife and I were a caravan of one. I guess I need "fast driving" lessons.

Still we both had a great time meeting everyone, looking forward to hooking up with John Z and his new wife, from Baltimore.

Picture links are here, I do not know how to get photos in here, just the links.
