I am getting ready to replace to worn Bilstien after only 25K miles on my 87'. Does anyone has experience with either the 928 Specialist Koni/Eiback or the Devek Koni/Hypercoil? Why the big price difference? Thanks.

Hi Tom,
I run the Externally adjustable Koni/Eibach set up from 928 International. I prefer it over the Devek Hypercoil for street/occasional track use. The Devek/Hypercoil set up didn't stay real planted in the rear when I was driving over a rollercoaster section on the back straight at Spokane Raceway Park. It was also noticeably stiffer than the Eibach's while idling arond in the paddock area. I could feel every bump, pebble, and crack in the pavement. The Eibachs are progressive, so they are more forgiving initially in their stroke.
That aside, there are many folks that prefer the Hypercoil over the Eibach. From strictly a track perspective, the hypercoil has the advantage of being a much smaller diameter spring, so it is lighter (7 lbs. a corner). If you are going for mostly track use, I would maybe get the Devek II set up with the stiffer coil, which would probably cure the what I was feeling with the Devek I set up. Either set up (Eibach or Hypercoil)is a marked improvement over stock, you can't go wrong.
Also, We've got a huge group of rabid 928 owners in the local area (Pac NW). If you are interested in being in the loop for events (928 only track days, dyno testing, Go-kart racing, Drag Racing at SIR, Driving tours) email me direct and I'll get you set up. adamb777@worldnet.att.net We are not a club, no dues, rules or officers.
