Thumbs down A very brief moment of silence...

...for my front spoiler, which took leave of my baby last night - in three pieces. And a foul word for the yo-yo who left the big brick in the middle of 494.

Two weekends ago, I replaced all the support bars and put the spoiler on for the first time since I bought the car...although, I have to say, I really love the fashionable "brake ducts hanging out" look.

Anybody got a used S front spoiler?

James, venting.

Red face

James.
You are not alone!
Horror stories abound. Out here we have oil field truck operators leave all manner of equipment, tools and parts loose on the truck bed or tool box tops. They even leave the parts bin doors open on occasion.
Ever watch a a 3 inch ball valve frolicking along side a truck moving at 70 mph on a two lane road... and you just know in your heart that the valve and your sHARk have a convergence line on the only curve in the road for the next 7 miles... Oh Joy!!!
I don't know how many times I had the old Mark one Mod 0 eyeball lock on something the a size of a coke can hopping TOWARD Pattycakes. And due to it's peculiar shape a straight line is not in it's future...
If I I go left, it goes left. Been pretty lucky so far.... paint nicks ect. , but the real heart stoppers are the one's that take a Detroit hop right across the hood without touching a thing. Just yesterday I was cut off by a F-150 with enough lumber on it to build a small house. As I backed off enough to clear him prepatory to passing him ... he goosed it. Since the tailgate was down due to the length of the wood and, of course, it was unsecured I got a close look at 2x4's leaving the truck and sliding down the Loop at 65mph. I pulled over and picked up 13 of them - white pine and straight as an arrow-.
Pattycakes turned into a hauler. I always keep 2-3 large bath towels and some bungee's in the car. Never seem to find a Brinks truck unloading like that, but you never know.
Still, all in all, it is a bona fide pain to have that happen to YOUR sHARk and you have my sympathy.
Better luck in the future.

One month ago, I was running down I-10 and a jacked-up 4-wheel drive Jeep Cherokee was around 100 yards in front of me. The damn thing was lifted over two feet and had tires that could be used on a monster truck. I thought to myself, that thing can't be safe to drive. Around that time, the rear drive shaft shot completely off to the side of the Jeep and flew over to the shoulder of the interstate. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured and the only casualty was a pissed off redneck with a broken truck.

Thank you all - glad to know I'm not the only one to do a little street-sweeping.

Wait a minute...DEAR GOD...I got off easy. Frolicking 3 inch ball valves? Rear drive shafts? You guys are warriors.

Thanks for the sympathy.

James-
An extremely stout O'possum took mine out. 5:30 am on Texas 21, but I'll take a greasy East Texas marsupial over a greasy tool steel bouncing betty any day. Talk to Max- he lost his (and his radiator hose, and.....Max?-you tell the rest) to a herd of javelinas in South Texas.
