I'm contemplating adding 928 SP sway bars to the car for more enspired handling. For those who have BTDT whats the before and after results.......significant?

Quite a difference. Here's a pic comparing old & new. Just pick them both up & you'll know that the solid ones from DR are gonna be very substantial.

Agreed that solid vs. hollow should be substantially beefier but how does that translate for handling.
Is your favourite curvy stretch of lonely highway now that much quicker or are only fully realised when on a race track?

I have them front&rear on my '91GT; you'll notice a nice difference on your favorite curvy stretch. I highly recommend them.

I have the Dr's sways on my 93 GTS and it made a world of difference. Handles much flatter than before.

Anthony............do you have any other suspension changes?
I'm currently running Eibach/Bilsteins springs and shocks but I'm thinking of reverting back to the stock springs. I'm not convinced that soft part of the progressive spring is to my liking although a change of sway bars is perhaps the cure.

I had the Boge sport suspension stock. Since this car is a street car for me I felt the Eibach springs would be too stiff. So I had Dave set me up with a set of Bilstein Sport springs to replace the fronts and Bilstein HD shocks all around retaining the rear springs. It is a bit stiffer than stock but nothing compared to the Eibach's. I found the Bilstein setup to be a major improvement over the Boge's adding the Sways pulled it all together. I do not know the differences in spring rates but the Bilsteins were needed to keep the ride height correct and the wire dia of the coil was visibly larger on the bilstein springs.
The car is very stable in the turns until you start hitting triple digit speeds. Depending on your needs I found this to be adequate for most of my time behind the wheel. For track use it might be a bit soft spring wise. I agree I am not a fan of progressive springs for track use although you might find the sways might help eliminate that uncertain feeling you are getting with the eibach's

Nothing major just the springs made by Bilstein and used in the earlier sport suspensions back when Bilstein was the shock supplier for Porsche. The springs are shorter and stiffer than the ones used with the Boge sport shocks and a real PITA to compress and install. IIRC they had the same number of turns with a thicker wire cross section in a shorter overall package. I cannot tell you what the spring rate was but I am sure that can be determined.
I was going to go with the Eibach's but they were stiffer than I wanted for a car I use solely as a street car and NJ roads can rattle your fillings on a good day.
Like I said it was not a major change but definitely noticeably stiffer once installed and I was surprised to say that the Boge's were still in somewhat usable condition when removed. I am saving them for the next owner if there ever will be one. It wasn't until I added the sways that the cars handling really came about to where it needed to be, eliminating all of the roll that 3500 pounds has a tendency to do in the corners.

The springs are made for use with the M 637 sport suspension. Which used high pressure gas Bilstein shocks which have some spring effect in the shock because of the gas so the springs are shorter and somewhat stiffer than those used with Boge shocks. But I doubt that the springs are made BY Bilstein part # 928 343 511 12 is the front spring number. They are coded with an Orange mark for identification.
