Default Automatic rebuild

I have found one location for parts for the 928 automatic transmissions. The price of a kit for the four speed is around $300 plus another $100 or so for a new torque converter.

Are there better places and more ressonable prices for transmission parts. Is there a difference in quality?

Thanks

Most AT parts should be fairly easy to find since they are basically Mercedes transmissions. My local Mercedes guy (who also has a 928 mechanic on staff) can rebuild mine from parts he has on hand.

The part numbers in the PET are Mercedes part numbers (3 & 4 speed automatics), so sourcing parts from a Mercedes dealer is quite easy.

It depends on what quality you want. You can buy Aftermarket, OEM, or Genuine Mercedes parts.

All three are available at discount online. Just Google for "Genuine Mercedes Parts".

contact Steve cattaeno (sp?) There are some heavy duty pieces that you can use and he is the rumored to be the best when it comes to these trannies.
