Default MPG !!! Not that bad

I drove to Quebec City last Saturday. 95% highway between 75-80 MPH. 312 miles total (round-trip).

Put in 51 liters so about 10.2 liters/100 Km or 23.1 miles per gallon

I think it is pretty good since for the same round-trip, my wife's Focus did 8,2 liters/100 Km (28,8 miles per gallon)

Excellent.. I have always been impressed with the gas mileage of the 928. When I was daily driving mine I would get between 19 and 21.. Not too shabby at all.

I just drove my 87 S4 automatic from Franklin, MI to Plano, TX and averaged about 22-23 mpg running at 80mph with the car loaded up and the AC on the whole way. I was also amazed at how much stuff that car can swallow--over half of the "essentials" my wife needed for the two week period until we can get into our new house.

23 is quite good...was that in the 5 speed or auto? If you look in the back of the owners manual you will see a fuel consumption curve...of course its written in L per 100K but either way it shows peak fuel economy at about 3100rpm....which also happens to be around 90mph!! Gotta love the autobahn

Just put that in context - we are talking about a performance car from the '80's...!!

I never saw single digits in my GTS. 10.2 L/100km was the lowest ever in TX. In Europe no chance 13.2 l/100km is standard. But I rather use a little more fuel on the Autobahn.

Ill probably get that on the way to thunderhill this weekend. actually, last i measured, it was near 21mpg. sure beats towing the 928 on a trailer, having to go 60mph, and getting 11mph!
