This is not purple - it is amethyst - a beautiful, deep and dark burgundy. Calling it purple is quite a stretch. It was a factory color from 91 onwards. (They also offered violet blue metallic, a lavender color, from 91 on.)
The interior of this one is strange - magenta upper and black carpet and seats with magenta piping, and speaker grills painted to match. The magenta pieces look very "pink" under the flash, but are not like this in real life -- they look more like a cool burgundy.
Note the GTS mirror upgrades

Speaker seems aftermarket part.
Amethyst is quite common in ROW models. Much more common than one would think but obviously not as common as black, silver, white etc. Seems to be also ladies favorite.

So we must slot any color we see into one of these choices, we are not capable of comprehending anything else.
That being said, that interior is definitely on the pink side

I looked at '91 GT in Amethyst for sale in Denmark (the only GT for sale here) before turning to Germany. Liked the exterior color, but couldn't live with the interior.

Also strongly suspect that cars in original form will hold their value best - a hybrid like the one above may only appeal to some.

The steering wheel is supposedly a genuine Porsche item, with a price around $1000. Fattest, meatiest and by far the best steering wheel I've ever had my hands on...
