As mentioned previously, Land Shark Lager is Jimmy Buffet's idea, being marketed by his Margarittaville Brewing Co. The beer is actually being bottled by Anheuser Busch, only at their plant right here in Jacksonville Florida. It was first brewed in January this year. Slowly being spread into further markets across the US.
I contacted the AB distributing company here in northeast Fla last month & asked if we could get a Land Shark banner. They thought it was neat that we called our 928s Land Sharks too & were "adopting" the beer so to speak. They were more than willing to accomodate. They actually had their art/marketing department make a 3x5' banner just for us Florida 928ers within about 48 hours of my request! Unfortunately, the lady called me right after I had left town on the way to SITM though or I would have displayed it there. Hope to get more PR stuff from them soon too. We did bring a couple of twelve packs to SITM to help share with those who don't yet have it in their area.
Land Shark is being marketed to compete with Corona. We like it alot because it is a very smooth lager, without the bitter bite that Corona has in the last few inches. It does not need a lime thats for sure. Has a bit more of a kick than Corona too. I guess being a light lager perhaps? I rarely see any positve reviews from the so called beer experts. Glad that I could care less what they think, they're probably vette & 911 owners anyways!! jk!
We had some last night at our local Irish pub with dinner.
FINS UP!
