If you are that rich, you are not making optimum power. Datalogging with a WBO2 sensor will show where you are, I'm using a LMA-3 aux box for boost, rpm, injector duty cycle, fuel pressure, and A/F wide band. The A/F ratio being right makes a huge difference, and with the timing optomized you can safely get out of the overly rich zone to make some big power.
As far as chips, timing is pulled back to eliminate knock and the car retarding timing under WOT loads. The knock and hall sensors are relatively new and functioning well. The timing is definitely another key to the formula here.
As far as differences between our setups, I have a GT with higher compression ratio, different cams, and a port matched intake compared to a S4.
SC kit wise, I have a different (larger) airbox feeding the SC with larger intake tubing and a larger filter. More boost even with the loss through the intercooler (11 psi manifold on that dyno session). Fresh MAF with some custom Murf magic. I have the intercooler, huge difference as boost goes up. Bosch 044 pump and heavy gauge wiring/relay setup. 42# injectors and stock FPR. A bunch of hours on the road and dyno with the Sharktuner at the hands of Tim and Z. That's all I can remember right now.....more than a few differences, the setup has definitely evolved over the last few years.
Exhaust, I have a Lomas x-pipe with cats running through the stock resonators and a rmb. Nothing crazy there.
I think it is just a combination of GT's responding well to boost (cams and compression?) and a well tuned complete package. I did not expect it to make this much power, it has exceeded my goals already.
A few more tweaks are coming, and an early spring tuning and dyno session is coming. There is a video out there somewhere of the last dyno pulls, I'll do that again this spring.

To quote somebody else

The differences between S4 and GT engines are greater then the factory claim of only 10hp. (at least according to many dyno sessions that ive read about)

I would think a session with the shark tuner and nothing more would really pay huge dividends for your car. You probably have more then a few HP laying there on the table and it would no doubt get the car running much better and not so fat.

thanks - that hurt coming out of my nose
