Where can I find phone dial wheel paint?
I want to refurb my phone-dials and am looking for the original anodized paint that will perfectly match brand-new center caps. Anyone know where I can find it?

I recommend Wurth's Lacquer Spray High Gloss. Perfect match and very durable. Did mine years ago and they still look great.
White Aluminum RAL 9006
Lacquer Spray Sprecial - Clear
Three coats of aluminum followed by three coats of clear works well.

I used the Wurth silver wheel paint with gloss; however, the silver paint has a clogging problem and Wurth has pulled the product due to this. You can still get the Wurth high gloss clear.
There is a replacement for Wurth called "Einszett Silver Wheel Paint"

I was very happy with the results and found it was much easier to use a mechanics stool that rotates with a piece of wood on it that holds the wheel so you can turn the wheel when you paint.

original paint?
My '78 16" phone dials aren't painted from what I can tell.
I use mag wheel polish, and lots of cotton rags and even more elbow grease (not sure where you buy that).

Thanks everyone for your replies --would like to comment on a few:
I dropped by a local Porsche dismantler today that used to carry the recalled Wurth and they told me that the rep has come by several times since the recall, but still doesn't have a replacement color. Can I be sure that the new silver is going to be the right color --I'd really like to get the exact color used on my 928 for it's year.
Also, after researching anodizing, it seems that this is the optimal process for phone-dials. What I don't know is if the dials were originally anodized. If so, perhaps my wheels were painted over the top, because they are flaking.
Does anyone know if the phone dials were originally anodized, and if so, can I get them redone?
Thx -T
