Default C/V question

Hey all I am replacing the right rear axel in my 84 928. How many gaskets do I need for the connection to the rear diff. 1 or 2

Thanks

What gaskets are you referring to? Perhaps you mean the CV boots?

Two - one on the flange holding the boot and one on the flange of the dif. body you're bolting the C/V joint to. Good luck, messy job, BTDT.

I don't know what year they changed, but if the hub end looks like this you will need four:

Later cars had the hub end welded together instead of bolted and only require two.

Yes my hub looks just like that, I figured one for the bold side one for the diff side. Do I need anything to go out on the axel? I believe its sealed

Good luck, Brian. Get a good supply of nitrile gloves, some coveralls, and a LOT of paper towels.
