Calling all 928s in the Great Lakes area:

The growing Detroit-area 928 owners' club is scheduling a WEEKEND get-together.

Possible dates: June 13-14 or June 20-21.
EDIT: Due to popular demand....July 11-13 is now the front-runner of proposed dates. Please voice your opinion!

Location: <a href="http://www.metroparks.com/parks/pk_kensington.php#" target="_blank">Kensington Metro Park in Milford, Michigan</a>
<img src="http://www.metroparks.com/images/parks/parks_pic_kensington.jpg" alt=" - " />

Depending on the date, we are planning something similar to SITM: A low-key Friday evening for people to arrive and hang out and a large picnic on Saturday with a scenic drive.

Lodging can be either camping on-site or nearby hotel. We'll give hotel information soon.

SO....SHOULD THIS EVENT HAPPEN? PLEASE RESPOND AND TELL US IF YOU'RE INTERESTED! <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

I do like the idea Dave, only problem for me would be the dates. June is a total wipeout for me. If the dates change to July or Aug sometime please let me know.I would really like to attend.
Regards Bill.

Bill:

August won't work because there are so many other events already planned, including a multi-PCA group event in Pinckney, Michigan as well as the Woodward Cruise and a big anniversary celebration for Porsche at the Henry Ford Museum.

We haven't given July much thought because, frankly, everyone is anxious to have something soon. That being said, if the majority of people prefer July, it's a possibility. That's why we're looking for feedback here.

Thanks for you input!

Although weekends are bad in general for me, I like the idea of July better than June mostly because it gives me more time to plan for it.

My vote would be for somehting like July 11-13. I know its the weekend after the 4th, but that gives 2 months notice for people to plan.

Just my $9.28 worth.

I'd like to vote for July 11-13. My in-laws live next to the park and we'll be visiting!! This would sure improve my trip....

Count me in. This is already helping to ease the pain of not being able to run the Blueridge Parkway next weekend!

Randy:

Any chance you can make this thread "sticky" for a week?

Dave:
I think the july date is probably better as it will give us more time for planning.

Hey count me in, any dates are actually good for me. Hoping to have my new edition to the family running by then.

July Dates work for me also. Don't know about this, but I think the June dates interfere with SITO....

I can make the June date, but July gives me more time to actually get the car back together. I'm waiting on a new odometer gear - should be here this week.

It looks like July 11-13 works better for everyone. I'll check to see whether the park where we'll meet has a pavilion available.

ALSO: I'm receiving a fair number of emails about this event, so I know that there is a good deal of interest out there.

For all you non-posters....belly up to the bar and let us know who you are!
