At 168 that car would need every imaginable plastic or rubber item on the car replaced. Bushings, electrical plugs, shocks, springs, clutch parts, TT bearings, synchros, brake lines, caliper seals, engine seals, injectors, fuel lines, rod bearings, valve seals, valve guides, etc.

For me to send the wife packing over a 928 it gonna have to be a 5sp not an auto.
The interior and exterior is going to have to be near perfect as well. Cuz I'm gonna end up sleeping in the thing....

And don't most say, high mileage is not a problem for a 928?

This is not a popular opinion I keep.

Wear items include the things that I mentioned, and alot of 928 people, I think, believe that because it works well as it is at 100k, there is no need to replace things like springs, shocks, seals, brake seals. Shocks are like a 60k replacement or rebuild time frame. And because many get out of thier SUVS and into the 928, it SEEMS like its great, when in reality, its wallowing around relative to other sports cars.

But what else are you going to do when a new one is not an option? At what year do you have to kinda change your mindset about mileage? If that car went through a PM with reasonable results I would not hesitate to buy it.

Wear is wear miles are miles! The more miles the more wear. I have driven high mileage Porsches than hoped in a the seat of a low mileage one, completely different animals. I don't care what car it is, nothing lasts forever!!
