Default Red Line ShockProof Gear Oil?

I currently have Swepco Blue in the transaxle, but I need to change fluid because its long over due. Any opinions on switching to Red Line ShockProof Lightweight?

Other better choices?

I and another local have used it, seems to work well.

If you do a search in the archives there were some perceived negatives but after 3+ years and numerous track days (I have LSD) all is good.

Thanks Chris! I knew there was someone out there that was trying it, but couldn't remember for the life of me who. My initial searches didn't turn up anything either. Guess I'll have to look a little harder.

Most that use Redline use 75W90NS, 75W90 or a mix of the two. MT-90 is only GL-4, so don't use it.

Redline works fine, but next time I think I'm going to try Royal Purple MaxGear 75W90.

I have had Redline MTL in my 5 spd GTS (specially formulated for manual transaxles) and it made a world of a difference over whatever was in there before (don't know what it was before I bought it). Been using it for 3 years. I think I may switch to the Purple as well...been hearing some really good things about the stuff from street to race cars.

I've had the heavyweight shockproof in my GT for a while now...maybe 3 years..no issues other than notchiness when cold..next change I will go to the blue lightweight...

I don't know why anyone would consider using the Redline shockproof when their 75w90 types are perfectly suited to the application.

It's because the additive in Shockproof makes the transmission shift way smoother.
