Hmm
I would say not in any particular order:
The last GTS (which is in the museum)
Pearlglanz
any nice 95 GTS 5 speed
Holbert car
Stans 88 frankfurt showcar
Risky business car (1 of 4)
Any other movie cars (weird science, scarface etc)
froggy
record setting race cars (devek white car, andersons, the beast)

...but I would guess that the white one, sprayed red, that set the record for fastest production car in the late 80's would be on that list.
Who owns that, btw?

Bill,
I beg to differ.
There were two 'Last Porsche 928' cars.
There was a story about it, I think it was in 'Excellence was expected'. There was the Pearlglanz car which was the last one sold, then there was the last one produced, which was kept by Porsche.
I beg to differ.

[EDITED]
I can just imagine the Yugo crowd posting to the same kind of question. "What in your opinion, are the 10 most collectable Yugo's?"..."Definitely the 10 that still run!"..No, No, 5 that run, 4 blue ones and the one that was in the commercial!"

VIN number is really only difference apart from normal lights, bumpers etc. Point is how difficult it its to find one in each continent. Having '92 ROW in US and "strange" VIN early '93 US in ROW makes these very ordinary cars in collector car terms more interesting.
I left all cars that are in factory out from the list. This means ultimate collectable is last '95 US model. Its desirability is helped by options it has. Its not fully optioned but very close. Only way to make it more interesting would be if it were truly last one made. Another collectable is '95 with special package which is mentioned in Wikipedia and some posts in archives. It is more desirable than just normal '95 automatic.
Last 5sp which was shown in Euro 2002 meeting at the factory and which pictures have been up in here few times is not last GTS. Its VIN is far older than last '95 automatics made. This means factory has another later automativ hidden somewhere which was done after last US car. Besides that they probably have many other collectable 928's. Full aluminium body study turned into Sebring racer for example.
Kibort S4 proto would be nice addition to collection but it would need to be restored to exactly way it was when it was used in salt flats. All later mods would need to be reversed. French Le Mans racer would be another interesting addition but I suspect it would be virtually impossible to get.
Many responses into this thread have been personal favorite lists. They are fine but most likely will not cut as what is going to be collectable globally. These are two totally different things. Some value modified cars way above anything stock but collectable car market in general views them as ruined and places values accordingly. Only exceptions are ones like twin turbo S4 made by factory. Which will almost certainly never be part of any private collection making it useless in collectability list.
There are very very few 928 collectors in here. They are totally different breed than rest of us. How many in here has spend $10k to 4.5L engine and never driven car after that? Collectors will do few years from now if 4.5L is very early '78, '87 CS proto or late '95 GTS. Fact that there aren't many if any doing it now doesn't mean there aren't ever going to be. In 10 years time I think there are several people doing just that while most of us have moved on to some newer cars like 6-7 year old second hand Panamera 2 door with full leather and some engine or gearbox problems. We might still own our currect 928's but focus has shifted to much never things and 928 market has been taken over by new people who hate mods like ROW 300hp S engine in 4.5L US model etc.

If I had to choose one 928, it would be an original CS; I would take a CS over a 95 5-speed GTS any day.
Second choice, a slightly less than original CS, and so-on.
There were so few CS's made which makes it an instant classic, the most desireable being all-original.
