Default 928 Testarossa or Ferrari 928 ??!!

Hi,

found this one on the german ebay website:

http://cgi.ebay.de/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI....Name=WDVW&rd=1

The seller states that they tried to develop a kit for the 928 in the eighties but never came further than to this state. Car has been sitting in the garage for 17 years.

Cheers
Stefan

Nah...that's a 928 that's been molested. Want to build an interesting car? Mount the engine from a Ferrari 400i in a 928. Difficult you say? Not as bad as you think. The 400i's block has the same bellhousing bolt pattern and input shaft size as a chevrolet small block V8, since Ferrari used gm automatic transmissions in these cars. Which all means that with a Renegade Hybrids kit you can mount the V12 in a 928.

Now try getting the hood to close with an engine 6 cylinders long~

Man...I can't imagine the kind of time that something like that would require.

I've seen that NSX conversion before - I never cared for the end product. The NSX, like the 928, is beautiful as is, and converting it into a Ferrari knock off just doesn't seem right. They should have used a Fiero instead...

I am pretty sure those are BMW lights, and the car has little in common with a Testarossa?

Agreed. I really like what they did with the tail in ONE aspect, they made it look WIDE. Puzzling as I don't see that the car really IS wider, based on the doors in relation to the tail. Perhaps we could make our cars look wider in a similar way .... I don't like the 928's narrow look as opposed to the 944 etc but especially the Testarossa.

Looks more like they were using that car as a plug. Building it up with Bondo , glass, bits of wood to get the shape from which they make a mold THEN make new glass panels to fit on a car they intend to finish.... But who knows ....who cares ? The doors and 1/4 panels from the front side view show lots of flair.
