Default Help me guys (928 Wanted to Buy - RV)

Do any of you guys have a 86.5' or newer for sale, I prefer a manual. I want something nice, something that I do not have to tinker with anytime soon

Thanks

If you buy a 928 you will have to tinker. Period. These are complicated sportscars. They need very careful services and IMHO the only realistic way to own one or more is to work on them constantly, even if it's just ficing little things and changing oil.

+1 H, and they are also + 20 years old... even when you think it is all sorted out (or replaced) there are no guarantees!
How much $$$ do you have to spend on this "something nice that I do not have to tinker with anytime soon" dream car?
Oh and how well it holds up is proportional to how it is driven and cared for.

Come on now, I know there will be basic maintanance and what not. I am looking for something very well maintained and always repaired/fixed/modded correctly. I have owned a couple of 928's and they were always very good cars, that's why I have an itch for another. I have also owned several 911's, a heavily built 930 and currently have a 600hp 965, they were all done correctly and have been pretty damn reliable

Actually WTB (Want To Buy) posts are not allowed unless you are a paid member per the TOS. In before Randy kills the thread.

Oh wait... there's a guy over on the Pelican board who will find you the car of your dreams for a small finder's fee.

Wow...well, that's the real trick now isn't it! Best of luck finding a properly maintained 928. Most PO's are complete idiots and don't take care of their cars, and this turns them into expensive nightmares. A truly good car is going to be expensive, and will still require maintenance now and then.

My advice would be to contact the big 3 and ask them if they know of any near-perfect 928's that are on the market. And be willing to travel.

Be careful- most of the drivers in Memphis are awfull!

Look for a guy going by the name "Slow Miler" or something like that. He usually finds "pristine" GTS's, but I'm sure for the right buyer he'd find anything.

I did not say that, you can "search" all you want; IMO the title of your post is miss leading on a technical forum.
It could be more appropriate for you to actually “find” a 928 and then ask if anyone here knows any of the history on your prospect.
