I want to know if he pulled it off. My only "question" was his 35% + drivetrain loss he was claiming to have, found that a bit strange.

The fun part of doing something everyone says will never happen is proving them wrong. If he pulled it off, excellent notch in the 928 belt. If he didn't, well keep trying.

Hi

I haven't left the board........

I always read it but only post when I can contribute...

My father in law recently died so have not been posting much lately

My 800 hp Nitrous system was due for completion by now but due to family commitments wont be finished for around a month to 6 weeks as a guess...

Its sort of half finished....the back end (twin 14 lb bottles plus heaters plus piping) is done

The middle bit (control panel, race controller etc) is done

Then engine bit is the last to be completed but only half way so far...the 16 valve plenum is finished with 8 Nitrous pipes in a rather special configuration going into each spider leg....

The part not finished is the 8 Venom injectors which still have to be drilled into each spider leg and then the 4 or 8 solenoids (4 = 500 hp, 8 =1000 hp) (undecided as yet) will need mounting either side of the legs, and then setting up.....this will need a couple of days of my time which I just dont have to spare at the moment because of family business...

When I have finished it.....I will take pictures of all the engine stages and post them here...

Oops nearly forgot....also need to send my chips to John Speake to have the rev limit raised to 9875...

All the best Brett

Better put some Nascar style roof flaps on that thing in case you get crossed up.

Brett,

I've got two words for you that never in a million years would I have thought would ever be associated with a 928.

Scatter Shield.

Hi

Lollll...no scatter shield needed...

Its a little hard to explain about the rev limit but let me try...

When the Nitrous kicks in hard (on my 250 hp test system) what happens is the revs go UP so fast its beating the autochange ....and then hitting the limiter...at 6375

Now the one thing you DON'T want on a Nitrous engine is the limiter LEANING out the engine...or you get a very big bang of the picking pistons out of the local fields variety

Soooo... I spoke to John and although hes only just started working on the S2 chips he said although he cannot set the rev limit to a precise figure...he can basically remove it upwards to around 9875....

And thats precisely what I want...it OUT of the way..if you see what I mean....I doubt my engine will ever run at over 7000 revs (I figure thats when the valves will start floating anyway)...

All the best Brett
