Wow, I felt like I might have withdrawls when the Forum was down today. I've noticed quite a few changes(very good). Some are obvious and some are subtle. "Report this post" with a whistle icon was pretty obvious. How many of us could notice them all and come up with a count of the changes.

So that's what it was all about. I was having withdrawal symptoms. If I don't get my morning dose of Rennlist, I'm a real bear. I wonder if I would actually trade my monster cup of french roast for a browse on Rennlist. I think its entirely possible.

Not sure if it's the Archives lost, or just the search not working. When I kept geting 'none found' on my search on Zerex g-05 antifreeze...I tried a more "GLOBAL" search... I typed in "porsche"...NO HITS...hmmmm. I sure hope and pray the archives aren't lost!

I happened to notice the search function was down yesterday. I can only get hits for threads active since the maintenance service was done. I sure do hope the archives come back intact. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

First of all, I must say that I'm not yelling when I say - I WANT MY AVATARS BACK! - Just expressing the point that I miss mine and everyones picture. It gives us each personality.

Yes - I cannot tell you how many times I tried to open the site. Did any of you get the Admin page?. _ If your seeing this page and your a regular user ......blah blah waa waa waa. I was so cranky yesterday.

John D. - this is fiendly message to you. Thank you for everything and thank you for upgrading Rennlist. I'm sure it's not done and we are in the middle of the version upgrade and I expect more changes in the nearby future. I do have one reqest if possible and this may speak for everyone.

May we please have an advance notice of "down" or "upgrade time?.. Maybe I missed the last one - I don't know. For awhile there I thought my ISP took a crap but thank goodness Rennlist is still around.

Will there be a thread regarding the Forum changes implemented with the new version release?.

Hi All.....!

Thanks for the comments and the support...! this was DEFINATELY an unplanned upgrade. In short, Sunday evening, the main Forum server started going over the sunset.... So, I tried to band-aid it - but it didn't work...

Soooo - I bought a new server Monday AM, built it up, installed the OS - and then tried to bring the code over...

Of course - the "old" code didn't run on the new system or OS - so I had to use the code from my development system that included many of the features you see here...

Anyway - I just stuffed the new server full of RAM - so it will be up for most of the day (I hope - it depends on how it is acting)... Still on my to-do list.....

Rebuild the Search archives/engine;
Port over the Avatars
Install the RENNLIST MEMBER designation;
Fix a few bugs I'm seeing pop up;
and then -

get some sleep

Best to all - and I apologize for the outages yesterday and Sunday night....!!"

I was browsing the 944 board, and read about a change on the "My Profile" area. You can add your own avatar now. I'll see how it works.
