The red supercharged '85 belongs to Marcus Hutchinson. Apparently there's a Marcus Herm who is not the same guy.

Ahhh...that Markus. If I'm not mistaken, he is the one that installed Marcus H's supercharger and built his engine. Don't know anything else about him..

Apparently Marcus Herm is a principal at German Auto Art, and they are the guys that did the work for Marcus Hitchinson.

It would be good if people knew what they were on about before they started the spouting!

no milage in this, either........

>>>BERNIE: I'm only stating facts not stories.<<<
Don't see where I said it was a story or otherwise??

>>>This thread is about 928 supercharger engines.<<<
More specifically, its about a street mannered supercharger arrangement for 85 / 86 32V engines.

>>>BTW: Bernie did you buy rennlist from John D? If so do I need to mail my rennlist membership renewel to you.<<<
George, I'm not questioning anything you are saying, feel free to post anything you want about anything you want. I just don't want to watch this thread turn into another pissing match between guys who have some sort of rub against one another. You see what I mean?
It seems to me that everytime the word "Supercharger" comes up in a thread, it turns into something other then what was originally intended, that's all.

I have no further comment on that issue.....

Hope your friend gets his motor soon....

Brian, do some research. Alla was the name of the pagan "moon" god worshiped by big mos's tribe. That would be like saying Zeus is greek for God.

Bernie,

I have used Cruzin Performance to service my fuel injectors. Rich (owner) Does a great job, reasonable rates quick turn around. Matter of fact I will be using him very shortly to service my injectors before I install my motor prior to supercharging.

Rich, of Crusin Performance, was kind enough to return my e-mails regarding his services, even while he was on Christmas holidays. He was very informative and pleasant to some Canuk dork that was interfering with his vacation!

I had a couple of particular issues, one of which was around the fact that I have a broken injector body on one unit.

Anyway, his explanations and remedies sound logical and lacking the wad of hype that often attends this kind of thing, so I'm shipping the little beasties off to him for service.

One reason I opted for Cruzin, His shop is about 90 miles from my house, and if anything was fishy with the repairs I could drive and talk to him. But nothing like that was needed. He does great repairs.

OK,

Sounds like fuel injectors are under control.
Lets talk cooling.

I know that the S4 dual fan arrangement does not fit after the installation of the blower. No space----and the S3 viscous fan has to go.
It would suck to lose the benefits of the shroud to channel air through the rad.
Has anyone come up with a way around this or is it an opportune time for someone to fab a new low profile shroud to accommodate the lost space? Maybe fiberglass or carbofiber would do the trick.
Lets get a roundup of lowprofile fan ideas to accommodate this arrangement.

Cheers

Bernie,
There is a electric fan install write up on the socal site that may give you some ideas. The person states the whole setup costs about $20.00. He seems to have taken the fan and shroud from some 80's model GM car.

This is a repost from the S4 thread in case you guys didn't see it:

To confirm the info guys, we are finishing up the 32V S4 car right now. No hood mods required. We made a custom CNC milled billet aluminum intake manifold for the blower to sit on. The blower discharged down and our to the runners. The inlet is at the back as in the stock configuration. There is a larger modified throttle body at the back of the supercharger. The blower snout is custom made to fit the 928, which just clears the oil fill to the side and extends forward to the pulleys. The H2O temp sensor is remounted to accommodate the snout. The original MAF is removed and the car is converted to MAP injection with a custom made EFI box which controls timing and fuel and is pre-programmed so the end user will simply install the kit, twist the key and go. The M112 Gen4 blower has an integral blow off valve to keep the car from boosting at idle. As soon as the throttle is cracked the car will make nearly full boost and unlike a centrifugal blower, will maintain this boost to redline. There is no boost curve as with a centrifugal or turbocharger set-up. We don't have any full power pulls yet or even the final boost level we will run determined yet though the boost will likely be 4-8 PSI or so. The 944 4-Valve head cars made 40%-70% more HP/TQ than stock with over 120% more power in the lower RPM ranges! Prices are not yet determined but the rumored 6K+ is close.
