I wasn't to impressed with marcus3 operation when I went to visit in november of 2002. Marcus is bull****ting a good friend of mine on a blower 928 motor he paid for almost 2 YEARS ago. He paid marcus in full, maybe marcus used my friends money to help build someones elses 928 motor who knows? A lot of stories still no MOTOR.

***************

Errr, excuse me George I am Marcus(3) I am not German Auto Art, I am *NOT* Markus Herm, I am a private owner of a widebody supercharged 928, I built the engine MYSELF, the only thing I did with german Auto Art was to house the project in this shop so I could bolt the engine in when it was finnished. thats it.

As far as your friend Abby goes, i feel really sorry for him, he was supposed to get a copy of my engine, but it's been 2 years and next to nothing has happened, well thats *NOT* my fault.

Please stop talking bad about me, I had nothing to do with anything you and your friend are experiencing, I have had nothing to do with your problems.

For the record, I did all the reserch for this engine myself, with several books on supercharging, I also had some outstanding advice from the guys at FAST and from my friends at 928 International, so this engine was a combined effort from all the above.

thank you

Marcus Hutchinson

Hey,

Have you guys seen Mad Max? Remember the car he was driving and the blower on it? What was that anyway.
Thats what I would love to have, some sort of blower set up on a clutch system. Button pushed in and you have a well mannered street car. Button pulled and you get gobs and gobs of extra pedal.
I know it was Sci-Fi but I was curious if it was a real thing that could be done.
Just imagine crawling by a cruiser as quiet as a church mouse and then slamming that button while sitting next to a ricer at a stoplight.

Am I dreaming

Bernie,
The Eaton M62 for Mercedes (not sure which one) has an electric clutch. Your dream is not far fetched. I believe that Steve Catteno mentioned that he has current plans to do this in "Pictures of my car". Maybe the kickdown button or one similar could activate the switch at full or close to full throttle. I'll dream along.

Thanx for the info Andy.
I will cruise that string to find out more. I am glad that there is a way of doing this and I think that this type of arrangement will prove very interesting to many 928 owners.
Did his Eaton maintain the stock intake or does that have to be removed or modified?

Cheers

Bernie,
The M62 comes from the factory on the Mercedes that say KOMPRESSOR on the back. So it would be a stock intake but probably different from a Mercedes without the supercharger. There would have to be some kind of special valving in the inlet and charge tubes.

The toyota superchargers also have an electric cluth so they only come on at WOT. Its a Eaton M90 i belive. Makes it a 265hp V6. Not bad for a small truck.

Bernie,
Both of the examples above are of roots blowers.

Marcus,
From your web site I had always thought you were the proprietor of German Auto Art too. All straight now though.

I would like to set the record straight.

Marcus Hutchinson / Marcus3 has nothing to do with the business transaction between me and German Auto Art. He has not been paid a cent to help me and has never told me anything but the truth. I consider him a freind and a person that is good to his word.

As far as my motor goes, we will have this resolved very soon.

Stay tuned!

Hey Abby!

Good to hear from you. I sent you my quarterly PM the other day and based on my promptness in replying to emails you now only have 6-wk’s left to respond

Thanks for clarifying who’s working on your engine. I’m sure you are chomping at the bit to start her up after all your time and money you’ve invested.

Keep us posted

I would like to offer a couple of Rennlisters with 16V 928 cars in good running condition and unmodified or nearly so, a discounted SC kit in exchange for fitting and tuning time with their car. Interested parties should contact me directly. We are in So.Cal.

Just for the record I already have my flame suit on cause I know this will not be a popular question. I have admired 928's ever since I saw one in "risky business". I currently own a 944 but REALLY want a v-8.
The question is why is it SO hard to get more power out of these engines. If you compare the chevy v-8 to the Porsche v-8 it SEEMS like 400 horse is attainable only with buckets of money--while with the chevy engine all it takes is a catalog and a couple thousand dollars.
I personally like the idea of a boosted v-8 with in excess of 400 horse with torque to match. I know these cars are 20 years old and meant to be touring cars-- NOT drag racers. On the other hand any 20 year old kid with a boosted mustang can give these super cars a run for their money. Am I missing something?

I might need a new rennlist name after this and no I have no intention of buying a mustang (a creaking body scares me) was just curious.
