First of all to everyone of you who have been conned in some way or fashion by this idiot, I know how you feel.... I am his ex-wife and was conned for 11 years.
I was given the heads-up on this site today and read back on all the scams regarding the 928 manuals and that's unfortunately not surprising. He also used to sell digital cameras and other strange odds and ends on ebay and is apparently now dabbling in 928 stuff and cessna parts.

He makes ripping off people his hobby/career. As far as I know he is unemployed and financing pilot school somewhere in Florida by his scams and conning women to pay his way.

What I would like from all you very helpful people is finding out where he is: address, anything.... so I can try and collect the last 6 months child support from this deadbeat.

My gift to all of you trying to find him is this: He will be at the Crowley Court House in Dallas Texas court #10 Tuesday Jan 7th at 9 a.m. for a trial for violating a protective order against me a year ago. I know some of you guys who were scammed were posting from Dallas, so I hope to see you all there.

Thanks for coming forward as I don’t envy the position you find yourself presently in.

Mark Shackelford took advantage of myself personally and that of several other individuals who share a simple passion of 928 ownership. Unfortunately, the Shackelford incident is not an isolated event as I’ve experienced another. Prior concerns/ideas were previously posted concerning this issue of fraud and we’ve made some headway, especially due to John and Randy of Rennlist however, the issue at hand IE: “Deadbeat Sellers” although not a topic about horsepower or girl photos, is an issue that needs to be addressed again fastidiously within the Rennlist board at some point. Perhaps we could possible re-visit earlier ideas about dealing with fraud issues and devise a plan. A fraud filing procedure which I would be happy to investigate (lawyer types want to help?) and that information inserted within the “A new visitor post” text. I realize Rennlist is not only a forum for 928 owners, but also other Porsche models and perhaps a more appropriate place for this information would be upon the main site page…I don’t know?

For now though our options are limited. However Jesper, I would think yours are not.

The addition of “Dead Beat Dad” to Mark’s moniker comes as no surprise. Assuming you have a lawyer, his court date should provide you with an opportunity to sever him w/ additional papers for child support and/or other charges depending upon the verbiage written within your divorce agreement. Some states, violating TRO or PO are felonies. Texas law defines a protective order as a civil court order and when violated can be fined and/or punishable as written if judged so;

Licenses suspension for both private and professionally held is also an option warranting your further investigation in regards to his latest endeavors in Florida.

Texas law states;

For a small fee, I would think a hired investigator would be able to track him through several avenues such as charge card transactions, cell phone usage and by calling various flight schools within his suspected Florida residency for enrollment status.

Please don’t misunderstand my comments as I appriciate your posting updated information regarding our fraud issues w/ Mark Shackelford however, I believe you’re in a better position to nail him down than anyone here that’s been personally effected by his actions.

Yes, I am in a fairly good position relatively speaking, however, you wouldn't believe the uphill battle I've faced trying to
A). Get away from this guy
B). Battle in court constantly for more than a year
C). Go at it alone.

This guy is slick as black ice and it will take each and every person out there who can add fuel to the fire to bring him down. My battle gets very tough going it alone, but the more I hear about people he has scammed, the more I hope he will have stacked against him. The odds just have to be against him. The DA gave me the word that our trial will go on Tuesday - I'll certainly let you all know how it goes....

Good God this guy is like a cockroach in every sense of the word. We should collectively contact his competition and share his past history. I know he wrote a hot check for 6K to a local Porsche dealer.......and another shop. I'll forward this info to the people I know at both places. let them do with it as they see fit.
