At least I know this 928 will be going to a loving home!!

Just for fun.....here is both of the 928's in my garage.....which one is mine...& why?

Okay, so that is mine on the left? It looks as good as I had hoped. Those are better images than the posted ones on eBay..

Now, if I can just get it home. I don't know how long I can go without sleep.

Thanks for all your help (and Bills) in this adventure. Check with 928 International on Monday.

Don't worry, you're just a pup, (wish I was ) plenty of 928's in your future.

You'll have to school me in the "Langka". I've just used paint and a very small brush carefully, let it dry and then wet sand and buff, over and over, with a hard back-up behind the paper and then cloth with rubbing compound and again with a hard back-up to keep it flat, until the scratch or chip is filled up to the level of the adjacent paint.

How does the Langka work. I looked it up and it seems a lot like what I've always done, but with a thicker paint maybe?

I believe Brian has "paid it forward", if you remember the movie.

I wouldn't have the car without his help and advise, - and obviously sacrifice, so.... he's got a credit balance in the 928 book of good deeds and I certainly owe him..

Actually it "was" going on the 90, along with a cross-over, when I get it done and it "was" going to get the twin screw, but.... now it will all go on the "new" 87 5-speed at soon as it gets here. The twin screw will have to wait until fall probably since I spent part of the money on the 5-speed. It was just too good to pass up.

Am I the only one who gets so worked up that I wake up in the middle of the night trying to figure out how I can get the car here sooner? I'm an old guy, but I still feel like the night before Christmas. I guess I must only be old on the outside.

Rod

By the way, did you ever get the sound you were looking for? I think you decided my rear muffler wasn't exactly what you wanted.

They're 18" TSW MONTAGE WHEELS 18x8(front) 18x9.5(back). I've looked at them on the TSW site and they seem pretty nice, but I may put them on the silver 90. I'm not sure I like them on the red car, but we'll see.

I'm OK with the sound just now although it could be a little louder;

Motorsport X sans cats, small resonators, GT (twin pipe) rear muffler.

There's a resonator option from our friends in Wisconsin that I haven't heard the results from yet.

The TSW wheels look great on the 928, fit well and are reasonably priced.....these wheels-tires have minimal miles on them & the Kumho SPT tires still look brand new...the rims are perfect without a ding in them (that I could see)....

Rod
If your good at wetsanding, then you'll be able to correct that small ding better than me....Langka is basically a strong polish step to level the applied paint to the level of the surrounding paint....I filled it in pretty decent, but it was a quick job & it needs more paint applied, then leveled down and waxed.....I would say right now its a "10 footer" (looks good from 10 feet).....with work it could be a 5 footer or better.....

I also enclosed a Mpeg walk around of the car showing the condition and mileage.....73,197 when I parked it...I also put all the photos I have of the car on the CD too.....It should be in the car when you get it.
